Trap55, the serial number is 120873, and no I did not ask Bert for the exact date of manufacture.
To all and sundery, be advised that this rifle uses .427 bullets, NOT the current 44 caliber .429.If you find it difficult to find .427 bullets, I have some available.

And thanks for a chance at a classic Winchester. I have a FFL friend so no peoblem on my end.HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more!
If I'm lucky enough to win... I'm only 4-1/2 hours away.
I want to come pick it up and spend an afternoon talking with you in person.
Dinner will be on me and the wife. Our treat.
Not everyday I get an opportunity to speak to a genuine WWII veteran.
You're a little younger than my Dad would have been this year... But just the same.
I'd be very appreciative of the opportunity !
Count me in sir. You are one of the last few great Americans that was part of a generation that sacrificed so much. A shame it is all being flushed down the drain now and not that many people care.
I'd love to have it. In the market for a modern one but can't afford one now. A WWII Vet?? I heard we had one on here but I thought it was another guy.

O.K. Guys & Gals, you have been asking for it. In commemoration of my 86th birthday, I am giveing away an 1892 Winchester rifle in caliber 44WCF (44-40) made in 1899, so no need for an FFL. It has been abused in the past and needs some TLC, primarilly a replacement butt stock.
I will be drawing a name from the hat on August 10 2013.
Good Luck.

Throw my name in the hat. Happy 86th and thank you for your service.
