We had a stray dog take up at the house. I didn't pay too much attention and one day was in the yard and heard my 8 YO hollering "LARRY, LARRY" and here comes this big goofy dog all tail and tongue.

I asked my son how the dog got the name "Larry" and he answered, dead serious, "how could you call him anything else?"

Belle for my yellow lab / chow cause I like the name. Our poopzu Buffy cause she's fluffy and our mini Chichauha is Jada cause it combines my wife's name and mine.

C.B., short for Cry Baby. He cried constantly as a kitten, then hardly ever made a sound for the next 17 years.
Scars-Found this hound laying in the yard. He had been hit by a car and had the hide peeled in places and cuts all over. Doctored him up and he lived 12 years. Loved beer.

Tina. For some reason I thought of Tina Turner when I got her.

    catahoula leopard mix?

Not sure what she is. Got her from the pound. Picked out the ugliest puppy there. And yes, she is very smart but timid.

    pretty dog!

    smart dogs!

Dogs that have recently passed on where named by me:

Cohiba - named after a cigar brand
Pancho - named after Duane "Pancho" Carter, race car driver

Our current dog, "Milo", had his name chosen by my children.

Victor was named by my girlfriend when I met him.

Abby is my dog and I named her Abby because she is an American Bulldog (AB), and a neighbor when I was young had a dog named Miss Abbey and I always liked that name.

I like different names for animals. So I had a cat (now deceased) named "Mr. S.K. Riley, Esq., The Original Skrugging Cat."

We usually called him Riley. How we picked that is a long story- short version is he was all 'scruggy' as in dirty when we found him. I won't get into how "Riley" got applied.

Another good one- kitten was born when Hale Bopp comet was visible; hence she was named Haley Bopp-Hop.

Another one, pure white cat with long silky fur, looked like a ghost coming through the completely dark yard at night; he got named *. When his brother showed up a few days later, with short hair and a face showing he had some siamese in him, he got named Sib Ling.

Finally, there's Galloping Jack the one-eyed Peanut. He has epilepsy and runs around in a crazy fit at leats once a month; ergo "Galloping" and "Peanut" (He was born with a peanut in his brain, like Mr. Hanky's one child on south park), and one-eyed because one of his eyes is all milky and doesn't work. Jack? Just sounded good.

My brother bought two Dobermans from the same litter, so we named them "Frank" and "Jesse". Jesse died of cancer, but Frank lives at my home now.

I had a "Troy" for Aikman. I have "Jeb" for Jeb Stuart. Next ones will be "Chesty" and "Jackson".

The Vet informed me the other day that the local vet will crop their tails at birth, but will not crop their ears any more. I guess I'll have to find one to do it. They look stupid with floppy ears.

I had a vet tell me one time cropping ears was the difference in a dog and a doberman

I never took your for a big Jesse Jackson fan, Earl.[:)]

Dobermans look great with floppy ears, BTW, as do most breeds that people carve up for cosmetic reasons.
