Work in corrections. Would love to have for a personal car but tight to get in with gear let alone shoving a 250 plus cuffed and shackled inmate into one.
Been with the Dodges around here for a few years now.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
In Indiana I have noticed that there are some unmarked pickups patroling the highways. You dont notice them until the lights come one. I assume they belong to the highway patrol.
We had a couple of Chargers when they first came out with their police package. We had the V-8s. Those things were in the shop way more than the Crown Vics. Suspension problems, broken motor mounts, etc. We quit buying them, but I have heard those problems were corrected later on.
My personal favorite was Sheriff Andy Taylor's 1962 Ford Galaxie with the single "cherry top" light. I got my first ticket by a cop driving one of those.
You would think that some mfg would build a Police Cruiser for all the depts in the USA...Checker Cab was fabulous, when cabs were a real factor. Not many cabs used unless in urban situations, thus Checker closed up...I have noticed the Brits have used SUV's.for patrol.Land Rovers I think..

The Tahoe isn't as fast, but it is way more comfortable, and being a Chevy truck, it will last.
I'd love to have a pursuit rated Tahoe...yes I would!
