Yeah!
I take the print editions, instead of the less costly digital format publications.
I always take the complimentary duffel bag, pocket knife, hat, etc.
I never let them convince me to buy the lifetime membership, but renew on a year by year basis.
When they call, begging for more money, I promise them I won't renew if they don't stop harassing me.
Historically, the NRA president was a "gun guy", until they brought in the politician LaPierre.
This news is disheartening, but not surprising.
Everyone knows the NRA pawned their way into compromise with the govt on past law. The Dems are attacking the gun lobby, Regardless what organization it is. If all are eliminated the senate, congress folks won't know how to approach a settlement on any current new law. We are all sitting ducks. The govt used the NRA until recently. It was a test on the bump stocks to see what kind of rebellion would happen. Actually nothing happened, so get prepared for the next restriction.
How could they possibly let the goose that lays the golden gun-control egg die?
Now here is some information you need to know about the NRA, the bylaws are pretty much hidden. Anybody have a copy of the current bylaws?
That should be a warning to all you members, if you do not read and understand the bylaws of your organization, how on earth do you know what they are up to?
I tried a search for the bylaws, and came up with a site that confirms that the NRA can easily be infiltrated by anti gun folks and gun rights brought down from the inside. And look what is happening now, is it any surprise?

And to top things off, why do they need to be a "non profit"? The socialist platform of freebies. Makes no sense to me. But then again, I'm the guy who thinks everybody should pay their fair share of taxes, thus eliminate non profit status of corporations, they are giving real business a bad name, "evil corporation", etc.
Please go read the bylaws and quit being monkey see, monkey do followers, believing the fake news. If you as the patron/member do not know the bylaws, how are you going to hold the leadership and management to them? For that matter, how do you know the bylaws are in alignment with your firearms beliefs?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
100% correct, SF, and it is a shame.
5 years ago we were one of the most accepting. Hell, we even have a clause in our State Constitution that ensure that the individual will have the right to own weapons that can used to assist in protecting himself and the state:
Washington Constitution Article 1; Section 24 The Right to Bear Arms:
?The right of the individual citizen to bear ?The right of the individual citizen to bear ?The right of the individual citizen to bear ?The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired?
Obviously this has been tossed on the trash heap of history both by our legislature and by citizen initiative.
The new controls are being fought, but with the current populist/collectivist trend in the state and the country, I do not hold out much in the way of hope for success.
