I wonder if they had posted a photo with in minutes countless people would have called it out for just a door pull . I would guess countless pull down ropes have a loop completely harmless
the place I worked at we had at least 100 + over head doors at least 30 were in my work area ( maybe a lot more ) I spent 25 years removing hand holds tied in the pull down ropes people liked to loop them to get a better hold on the rope but they also hung up on the forklift or loads and took down many doors with that dang loop catching parts or the mast
but people would still tie a loop . toward the end they put in automatic doors so no need for the ropes
side note as young fellow a old man taught me to tie a hangman's noose its a bit more than just a loop / knot tied in a rope

I would have thought an apology for stirring the pot, jumping to conclusions and making accusations were in order.
I just heard on our local news channel the NASCAR is continuing its investigation even tho the FBI said nothing illegal happened. I guess they want even fewer fans.
He don't matter.

And Bubba is not apologizing he still insists it is a noose. Although, he says he has not seen it.
Sorry excuse for a man, he is a race hustler.

Are there racist white folk in the south - do they like NASCAR and WWE wresting - absolutely.
Are southern whites the last acceptable stereotype - the poor ignorant white trash or trailer folk who are members of the Klan and love confederate flags and tractors - rednecks and crackers - absolutely.
The racism in the south cuts both ways now - but perceived history of lynchings and church burnings and slavery and Jim crow still predominate...
I think that many folk were / are unhappy or unsettled by the globalization of things - by the almost forced PC inclusion of those note identified as white straight Christian males by the left...
Does the media pander to claims of race bias - absolutely.
The way I read things is that a team employee found the knotted rope and jumped to conclusions - and someone on the team made an official complaint or sent a documentable email to NASCAR officials - who panicked and did not want cancel culture to strike - did not want to deal with the capernick NFL issues or Jessie Smollett nonsense - or the self declared formally Marxist trained founders of BLM who have coopted a real issue to advance their position and topple the opposition through nefarious means...
They saw the 8:46 murder and the fallout and called the FBI to report a hate crime to cover themselves and things got out of hand media spin wise - but for financial reasons they wanted to get out in front of this...
