Ever have someone pay for your meal at the drive up......

I stopped off at a local DQ for lunch today while I was out and about. I ordered a Burger, fries, a drink and a cone. When I got to the window to pay, the cashier said "The lady in the car in front of you paid for your meal" Wow….12.86. I looked behind me and there was one more guy in line.

So I said I'll pay for his. 14.67….. There was no one behind him so he was the big winner of the day….

This has happened to us a couple of times… Makes the drive up more fun… Anyone else ??

Yes, same thing. Person in front paid for mine, they were driving out and got a wave in and same back. I took care of the lady behind me, it was fun and I looked in mirror and said lady had a big smile and a big wave-)

Very nice. I have heard of it happening often . There are still a lot of good people around

, but being good does not make the headlines or sell the news

I was at a McDonalds….just trying to get some coffee before I got on the freeway. It was one of those two lane jobs and I was messing with my phone, so I didn't realize I was pulling out in front of the lady in the other lane before it was my turn to go. She gave me a NASTY look. I apologized and told her I was trying to get a map thing started on my phone. She went ahead of me and when I got to the window she had paid for my coffee.

I've heard about the line of people paying ahead….that is a sweet thing to do.

Would love someone to pay for our order in KFC drive thru. It's usually $54. Maybe some were going to, until they were told how much. Pretty cool of those who participate in random acts of kindness.

    Yes I have.

And kicked my butt for not noticing who was behind me and not buying theirs.

Never had that happen at a drive-thru but a couple years ago my wife and I were having a nice dinner downtown and when the bill came we saw that the crab legs we shared were paid in full. I asked the waiter and he said the folks next to us paid for them. The couple had already left so we had no chance to thank them.

We had a guy with his young son in line ahead of us at the grocery store. They only had a few items. As items got totaled the man told the checker he needed to put things back. He kept the can of dog food and cereal for his son but put back things he liked. His son says but dad you like those, dad you like that. The dad just put stuff aside. We told the cashier we would pay for all his items to let him have it. The man refused politely but we insisted. We told him he could have everything in our cart or we could go back in and shop with him. He refused to take anything more than his original few items. He was obviously very overwhelmed and embarrassed. We assured him there's no shame. He thanked us and hurried out of the store. We wanted to follow after him but didn't want to further his emotions, ect. We left it at that.

like a lot of you who have not spoke up being modest I think that's true for a lot of us on here

Most every one I have done this for has said no at first out of self pride but then said thank you So much many were older people

The few dolars I have spent over the years , rings true the old saying beter to give than receive

Not sure if some one still does it, as i have not got the local paper or wath the local news much any more but For many years some one would go to the local Walmart(s) their is Two with in 15 miles of us .,in different directions and seemed to rotate stores each year

any way, a wek or two before Christmas, they would go in and pay everyone's toy layaways in full

I Always thought it was a splendid thing they did

I did have that happen once, took me by surprise. Made me think that there are still some nice people in this world. With the prices rising like they have, unfortunately, I look for this to become a dying practice.

Had a woman cut in front of me in the Starbuck's line. She came from the other way and probably did not realize she had cut in until we moved forward. When I got to the window I was told she apologized and paid my order.

I can't remember the last time I was in a drive through. That said, my wife and I like to put a few $100 bills in our wallets around the holidays and we'll dole them out as tips when appropriate.
