Tell us about your own experiences with cops DK. I'll bet you have had a bad experience. Could you have possibly have been breaking the law? Do you see yourself as a victim because they did not understand? I think many of us are curious about your hatred. Or I could be wrong and nobody gives a rats *.

OK, Big Guy, Here it is.

I'm 61 years old. I pay my taxes without cheating. I've been
gainfully employed since I was 11 years old.

I've successfully raised two children. I've been married to
my one wife for 40 years. I've never cheated on her. I don't
smoke and I don't drink alcohol. I've never been intoxicated!
    I've never done drugs.

I served two tours of duty in Viet nam, and wore a badge for two
years in Livermore California over 35 years ago.

My only scrape with law enforcement came as a $5.00
parking ticket, and that was over 20 years ago.

So I guess I'm a really bad man, who needs law enforcement
to watch me every minute of the day! I'm a very bad citizen,
    right?

Here is my arguement, sir. There is a GREAT MULTITUDE of illegal,
unconstitutional laws that exist. Politicians make them. Judges
won't throw them out as a check and balance.

But none of that would matter without the LEO to enforce it.
Now each and every cop vows to uphold the constitution. How
can they do that and still enforce these unconstitutional laws?

To me a cop who thinks he is doing good, is sorta like drug
dealer who makes himself believe he is a good guy who is merely
    providing pain relief.

I guess it boils down to a basic philosophy. You simply
cannot play in a poop house every day and not smell like
    poop!

Or: If you were a Jew in German ocupied europe during WWII, would you
like or trust someone wearing a nazi uniform? Even if they said they
    were there to help you?

If I was a member of the KKK, why would any african american
believe me if I said I wasn't a racist? Would my arguement of:
Don't judge the book by its' cover be valid?

For those few, who are good guys, wouldn't it just be simpler to
    get a respectable job?

I've tried to be a model citizen all my life. I raised my children that way too. And my reward is:

All my rights, not just the second amendment ones, have been slowly
taken away. Enforced by who? Leos, of course. Liberals have
taken the country I once loved, and turned it into a PC nightmare.

I have (had) an uncle who was a genuine WWII hero. He died at
Iwo Jima. I lost 3 childhood friends in Viet Nam. Two others
left parts of themselves there. One kid I watched grow up into
    a MAN, died in Iraq.

Now when I look around at this PC crap hole we now call america,
I can't help but feel many good men/women died for nothing!

And who, good sir, are the oness enforcing this PC, anti constitutional agenda put forth by the elitists who own this
    once great land?

COPS! Am I bitter? Yes, sir. Guilty as charged! And the
only americans I have any use or respect for, is that lowly 6%
who would fight to restore america to what the founders intended!

The other 94% can go directly to hell. I have more respect for the
raghead terrorists. At least they believe in something, and fight
    for it. I don't like them. I don't agree with them....but I
    do respect them!

To put it bluntly, sir, I feel lied to and betrayed by my own
people! My country is dead.[xx(] Can you blame me for not givng
a tinker's damn whether or not the current one is successful? [V]

Hatred? Yes Sir, I do indeed hate this politically correct, anti
freedom country! I live here for two reasons. One, I was born here,
Two, we do enjoy an abundance of food.

And by american standards, I pay for my right to live here by paying my taxes. I guess I'm not really a good citizen, because I don't approve of most everything this country now stands for?

Pledge of allegence? Yes, once. But no longer! If I'm still an american, then it's ANTI-american!

In my experience, most people who have such a grudge against the police have had brushes with the law, or wanted to be a police officer and were turned down, or else did the job for a short time and left it, usually upon being asked to.

    Mr. Nunn,

Notice the posts below. You have cops who would like to arrest me
because of my point of view. I have had no run ins with the law!
    WEll, the $5.00 parking ticket?

I do not belong to the KKK. I do not belong to any supremist group.
I'm a member of NO militia group.

I have NEVER done violnce to anyone except as a kid playing football.
But then football is a violent game!

I must admit to being somewhat devious when mentioning wearing a badge. I was not a cop, but rather a firefighter working out of the
same station as the LEOs. And no I have NEVER wanted to be a cop.
I respect myself too much for that!

One night we received a fire call for a vehicle. When we arrived,
there was a 17 year old kid, drunk as a skunk, trying to put out a fire with an extinguisher. I noticed that the fuel station just
off the road had the glass door broken.

Our young person had broken the door to get a fire extinguisher.

Yeah, I know breaking and entering. This kid was drunk because
he had to report to the army the next and certain assignment in
    Viet Nam.

He was in the process of telling us all about it when the cruiser
arrived with two of our donut eating finest. The minute he saw them,
he ran into a freashly plowed field, and of course the two patrolmen
    gave persuit.

When they caught him. He offered very little resistance as he was very
drunk. But our two cops beat him senseless because his flight had muddied both their uniforms and they were pissed!

I wrote all this into my fire report, and argued with the police chief
and the fire chief as whether or not it was proper for me to do so.
My report was amended without my permission. I considered this a
    COVERUP of police brutality!

I quit because I wanted no part in such corruption.. If that means
they "ran me off", then I guess they did! This is only one of several
imroprieties I witnessed while in public service.

Now I have been quite truthful in describing my life as a citizen.
I have broken no laws and do not intend to do so.

Yet these same nazis I don't appove of want to arrest me, put me
    in a mental institution, etc.

Not a single one of you responded to my arguement, but instead responded with personal insult. I believe that alone makes my case,
and indicates their lack of qualification to be a "peace officer"!
And you wonder why I don't like cops and don't trust cops?

One thing about it gentlemen, I don't have to convince myself that
I'm one of the good guys, I'm not the one breaking my oath to
    uphold the constitution!

I'm not a corrupt lapdog for the politicans! I don't need
jack boots and a badge to feel manly.

I don't have to defend what I am. It's my right as a peaceful,
tax paying citizen in the country I once loved. Now I realize
that I'm totally expendable in your version of america. That's
just the way it is in a police state!

I find it odd that only you blue-bellied nazis are attcking my
character, and I have done nothing wrong except have an opinion
you don't like. My, My, My, doesn't that tell intellegent people
a whole lot of things about the true character of our wonderful boys in blue?

Trinity, Just what threat do I pose to my fellow citizens? And
why sir, do you want to cuff me? Because I don't smoke or drink? Or because I've never cheated on my wife? Or because I pay my taxes?
Oh, I know, it must be that damned parking ticket! Surely, it could not be because I have a non violent point of view you don't like?

Wounded Wolf. I understand my entertainment value to some.
But I have nothing here. No friends. And unless a part of that
unwashed 6% who are REAL americans, I have no desire for communication
    either.

Hell, I've publically stated I won't resist when these same thugs come to confiscate my firearms. I find nothing left that I consider worthy of defending! Least of all the american sheeple!

Let's all remember that Adolf Hitler was a duly elected chancellor of Germany. And the Gestapo agents were legally appointed cops.

None of that makes them better people, does it?

Now for any of you who have the intellect, or the intestinal
fortitude and can resist the name calling, how about addressing my point that without the LEO, illegal, unconstitutional laws would be
    moot!

Is that what's really sticking in your craws? You simply cannot
justify what you do! Maybe we need some mandatory classes on ethics and morality at the station house. Maybe we need to quit teaching alternative lifestyles in our schools and go back to teaching american government.

Nah. We wouldn't want to do that. People might begin to think they
have RIGHTS, other thasn those allowed by the politicians and their
    pet attack dogs!

As stated before the "Policemen do not make the laws". No matter how wrong they are in your point of view, they are all we have to maintain order. Do not think for a minute that us as "peace loving citezens" do not need the Law enforcement personnel we now have. Our lives would be real crappy without them. No the laws would not be "open to question" (moot) just because we did not have Peace Officers. Yes, some of them tend to be dishonest, but they are not the majority. You will find these traits in any profession. Do we throw out the entire bushel because of a few bad apples? I have also served my country, both in peace time and combat. I did this because I truely love my contry and will never have that taken from me. If you do not like the way things are then show it in your vote. It was a peace officer that brought my daughter back to me when I thought I would never see her again. To this man I owe a great debt. You stated this is a country you "once loved". If you don't like it there are other places to live (mexico or Canada). I AM SORRY for my previous postings, but I see in you posting a lot of the same attitude you get from todays various hate groups. I respect the local law enforce officers and I also love my freedoms and this I will put my life on. When was the last time one of these black boots have tried to cart you off to the gas chamber. You were run off from your job as a Fire fighter because you were unwilling to stand and fight for what you believed in. Yes, you can fight city hall and win. Walking away is the easy way out. I have never walked away from a fight, never been in trouble with the law, never been fired from a job, never cheated on my wife, and never taken anything that did not belong to me. My family makes fun of me because of my old fashion values but their mine and that is what counts. I have been in public service for some time now (No longer law enforcement) and am vary proud of the folks I work with. No, they are not all honest, but as for them, they will get thiers in the end. I do not agree with a lot of the laws as they are written but I am not blaming the police for these laws, they did not write them. No name calling or insults, nor the desire to do so in this post. I honored you last request, lets see you do the same. I may not have addressed your post the way you wanted, but this is my humble opinion. Have some one taken from you that you love dearly (a feeling I can not begin to explain). Then have one of these "blue-bellied nazis ", as you call them bring them back to you after many hours of work on his part. Maybe then you outlook would change and then again, maybe not. Hell, you couldn't even contain yourself from the name calling and insults in your original posting. Do not ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself. Practice your "freedom of speech" it's one of the things that makes this country great.

    One shot,

You are entitled to your opinion, sir.

We do not share the same respect for cops.

I am truly disgusted with 94% of all americans! In
my mind, those who are apathetic or compromise
are as guilty as anyone else involved in corruption.

As I said in another post, I will stay here for
the abundance of food if nothing else.

Two pretty bad choices, though, sir. Canada and Mexico?

Canada is worse off than we are. My God, they will be
a muslim country before too much time elapses! And Mexico?
If Mexico is a good place to live, why do we have so many
illegals? Thanks but no thanks. And I don't speak the
    language anyway!

I have hedged a few bets though. Understanding corrupton in
government, I bought Haliburton at 27 and sold a few months ago.
Fortunately, I had just opted out of participation in our
business world and had some real cash on hand! I made a small
fortune at the expense of the poor souls sent to Iraq.

So, my fellow americans can wave their little flags patriotically
if they want. I did like all the other enemies of the state and
    followed the money!

However, I still know corruption. My increase and my principle is now secure in a SWISS BANK! You see I don't trust my fellow americans. They like to have things and don't want to work for them. GW and the rest of the elitists will have to pay all these mounting
    debts somehow.

I don't intend to pay a damn red cent! I don't care if this
country ceases to exist. I don't care if the population goes hungry.
They have brought this on themselves! In masse, at the polls!

I suspect that most of those who have attacked me on this website
are not old enough to have experienced real freedom and the true
america. Therefore they see nothing wrong with what now exists.
Why else would they defend it so strongly?

I can remember a time when americans looked out for one another.
We, as a people, are now selfish, self centered, and have forgotten
    what personal responsibility means.

I find the present america, and her citizens disgusting! And
after two terms of Bill Clinton, as well as the possibility of
Hilary running successfully, I'll include the term...DEGENERATE!

I posted the same argument in a previous thread. I basically said, how can the NRA claim to be a friend of the gun owners and a friend of the cops who enforce the anti-gun laws.

    DK,

It's not your opinion, its all about attitude.

NY State is going to be passing more gun control laws soon, and if the people of the state let the law makers in Albany get away with it, then I will be forced into enforcing them. They laws are not unlawful, they don't prevent you from owning and are possessing a firearm; they will just make it harder. This all came about because of two NY City Police officers who got shot & killed in the line of duty recently. One by a drug dealer, and one by two burglary suspects. The law if passed will not prevent these types of scum bags from ever getting guns. They will only hinder the average Joe-citizen who wants to do things legally. It is these types of knee jerk reactions that cause bad laws to get passed, and I oppose them. I pay good money to the NRA, and other like minded organizations to help and represent my interest when things like this occur. I don't like these laws ether, but it is my job to ensure that the helmet laws are enforced, that seat belts are being worn, and cell phones are not being used while driving. I didn't pass any of these laws. I only swore to protect and defend the public against any social harm, and that includes all enemy's foreign or domestic. And, anyone who swears allegiance to an anti US government source is a domestic enemy.

You shouldn't stereo type others. I recommend you try and come up with an original thought, and not be so biased and discriminatory against an entire group of people just because you heard of are know of a few situations that you didn't approve of. I take offense to being called a NAZI. I take offense to your using copied verbiage from the NRA's past. I never hurt you, and no LEO I know ever did ether, but I find your attitude and sharing of opinions to be extremely offensive.

    Mr. Scrimshaw,

You too are entitled to your opinion.

We do not share the same opinion on cause and effect.

I think, as an american, you lost your way somewhere.

Under our constitution, there should be absolutely NO LAWS
that limit my activity of any kind, un less it proves harmful
to fellow americans. This concept has been lost somewhere?

I feel sorry for you if you do not see what has been taken away
from us, you and yours included! Pehaps you are too young to remember
    a proper america.

My post here though is to alleviate your fear of me as expressed in
another thread. I am non violent. I will not snipe at cops and
children especially have nothing to fear from me.

My specialty in the military was nuclear weapons. If I were
the violent type. Rifles and such would not be my method. I'd
simple leave a briefcase in the park and Washing D.C. would cease to exist!

I have not, nor will I ever, make an allegiance to a foreign
power of any kind. I simply no longer feel an allegiance to
this country. I simply can no longer support what we have become.

So my personal philosophy is passiveness, and non participation.. While I would never attempt to bring you harm, I would however, just stand by apathetically and watch, lending no helping hand whatsoever,
    even in life threateneing situations.

What this means is like the ole west of yesteryear. While I
would never burn your barn, etc. Neither would I assist you
in defending you or yours from the indians! You are on your
own! If your crops failed and you were going to starve to death,
I would not intervene. It's your right as a american to FAIL!
We've kinda lost that concept too, right? Entitlements and
    guarantees....even to non-citizens!

I have a few extra dollars lying around, and my neighbors and
aquaintences know this. I was approached two days ago and asked to
"donate" funds for a family that had their home burned to the ground by a faulty fireplace. My reply was that I need some questions
answered first. 1. Are they liberals? 2. Is he a cop?
    3. Is he a potician? Is he a school official? Is he a lawyer,
or a an employee of the legal system?

This new attitude, (attitude as you correctly pointed out)baffled
those seeking a donation. A little out of character for me,
and they told me so! I just smiled and closed the door.

Any answer of yes means my answer is NO! I support these people,
as well as the non productive members of our society, whose votes are purchased with my tax dollars, already, each and every tax season! In short, I gave at the office!

I'm fairly well known in my community, and most do not understand my
newly found apathy. I used to get involved, and help out, but no
longer. I simply no longer care! But I try to voice my disgust
passively. My greatest violence will be posting on the internet.
And I only do that to let off steam. You know what happens to
    people who keep it in?

And in my final note, I do not, nor have I ever belonged to the NRA!
The NRA is a never ending money pit, that accomplishes nothing more than earning salaries and making compromises.

Someone else pointed out, that at 61 years of age, I won't be around
much longer to be an irritant. This is true, but I'm probably as glad
    as the poster about it!

As I look around, america IS the best place in the world in which
to live. And I find that very dishearteneing. Often I spend
much of my time fighting the gag reflex.

At 61, and with a nice little nest egg, I intend to enjoy what
I can for the remainder of my days. And if those around me are
less fortunate and suffer, I simply don't give a damn! My advice
would be, to not be so lazy and/or vote differently? That's if
you really believe voting actually changes anything.

Now let's see. Do I donate $5,00.00 to a charity, etc? Or
do I take a $5,000.00 mule deer hunt in Montana? Yep,
Montana here I come! I'll probably spend more than that though
because I'll rent a private jet to avoid being cavity searched by
some obnoxious public servant at the air port!

I have a copy of the movie, Arlington Road. In this movie
one of the major characters says, "The government will tell you
whatever you need to hear to feel safe". I don't think that is
necessary, people do that on their own.

You, and people like you, that believe most laws are not
illegal and unconstitutional, and that you are somehow obligated to
enforce them, don't understand or have never read our constitution,
and if you have, just like in the movie, you will find some way to convince yourself you are one of the good guys! And don't mistaking think I'm only talking about gun laws.

America is on the verge of financial collapse. People like you killed my country. And I'm enjoying every minute of watching yours die!! [:(!] Now the smart people, will imitate
their corrupt government officials, and invest the same way they do.
    That's the ultimate "insider trading"!

Enjoy your job. And don't let one of those illegal immigant
gang bangers make your wife a widow. Now, of course, enforcing a few of those non-illegal immigration laws would prevent that. I wonder
if NIS is enforcing them? Or does the economy, and political expediency, cause them to be ignored or half-heartedly enforced?

Oh well, You are the one in the blue suit. It's your problem.

From your last post it would seem you have become the same thing that you hate in this country. Live'n a double standard. Thats OK, there are many people like me that would stop to help another in need. You have to stand for something or you will have lived for nothing. Like I stated before, it would seem you spend most of your time running from adversity rather than confronting it.

I was afraid you might have taken my comment this way. I was actually trying to say that, although I don't completely agree with you, I enjoy reading your perceptions as it helps me to analyze my own. Surely there may be some entertainment value there, but I was refering to the personal benefit I receive from reading you comments and then comparing my own beliefs to them to see where we agree or disagree.

I too am perplexed by the initial hostility you received on this forum. I do not know what discussions may have occured outside of the Gun Rights forum, but I didn't see anything in your posts here that warranted such negative responses. Unfortunately I have seen this before in this forum, and it disappoints me. There seems to be a great fear of trolls here for some reason, as if they are going to bait us into saying something extreme that will allow the Feds to swoop in and snag us. I tend to welcome open discussion with anyone here, regardless of their agenda. I like to think my viewpoints and opinions are expressed consistently, regardless of who the dialogue is with.

Mr Schrimshaw. As far as new york laws go, I would submit, that new yorks state constituion overrides law. As A peace officer, you are to uphold the constituion first. Please don't take this as atni cop, but why the big roar over to cops being murdered, when it happens to the citizens in your state by the thousands. This is something I cannot understand. Here in KY we probally have hundreds of thousands more guns, that the state of new york. We probally have less crime in 1 year, than your state does in 1 week.

    Wolf,

I personally have found no entertainment value in Mr. DK's thrashing of all LEO's.

The initial hostility DK received on this forum stems from the negative hate filled attacks he is posted about LEO's on other GB forums. Read his other post and you will see what discussions may have occurred outside of the Gun Rights forum. I too have seen this before in this forum, but a fear of trolls has nothing to do with it. I happen to work in a Federal Law Enforcement capacity, and I would be the last LEO around here to sweep in and cause problems. However, I will also be the first to come to the support of all other LEO's here when they get attacked. That is what generated my post to DK. He fired his hate shoots in a random manner. He wanted to hit every LEO. His type of rhetoric is a good reason why there are stupid laws against hate speech now. He speaks about an incident he witnessed, and from that he stereo types very one in Law Enforcement. Then he rants about the boarder patrol letting in illegal aliens. He can't even stay focused on why he hates me and my fellow LEO's. I am the farthest thing from a liberal you will every find. I even once donated money to a fund in support of Randy Weaver. To me that incident spoke volumes with what can go wrong when Liberals run Law Enforcement. I am a US Army Veteran, I vote Conservative, I love firearms, Life member of the NRA, and I am a pro life Christian. Unlike DK I would help those in need. I would even help those who I consider my enemies if needed. But, when DK says "I think, as an American, you lost your way somewhere", he is judging me and all other LEO's without even knowing us. I take it personally his questioning of my patriotism. He sounds like a very lonely individual who has some issues he needs to deal with. My forgiveness is one of them.

    KYfatboy,

Sir, I agree with you to a point, but you're making typical Southern mistake by lumping NY City in with the rest of the State. Believe it or not, but there are just as many ball cap wearing, 4X4 pick up driving, easy rider rifle rack sporting, good old boy rednecks here where I live in NY State as there was in East Texas where I was raised. The only difference is that the ones up here speak funny, and drink a different flavor of beer.[;)]

Mr schrimshaw, it is good to here from A fed. I have A question you may take as an attack, I hope you don't. If the federal goverment declared all guns to be confiscated, would you being A federal leo, comply with the order, and take part in confiscateing all guns, or would you refuse to follow those orders on A constituional basis?

    KYfatboy,

That is a question that many here on GB have asked me before.

I believe firmly that an armed society is a polite society. I expect everyone I come in contact with to be armed, and I feel they should be. If they were this would never happen.

If this did occur the Christian I am would wonder if Armageddon was starting, because it surly would. To answer you question more directly, I value my constitutional freedoms more then my job, and I will never be a part of something like that. To me that WOULD be an illegal law. If the public ever allowed that to happen, I would be standing shoulder to shoulder with people like DK, but I would probably have to watch my back around him.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, shouldn't vincies be spelled vinces?[?]

Situation calls to me too much. Can't remain silent.

D.K.'s posts have some kernals of truth but come packaged with too much anger, hate and volatility. It is safe to say that if D.K. and/or his family was being seriously threatened with * harm or death, and the only solution at that moment was to summon help from an LEO, he would quickly do so. And even have some gratitutude for that help.

In regards to making the LEO's the main focus of his anger for the constitutional failure in American, that is unfair. If an LEO breaks the law in dealing with you, most likely that LEO will suffer. If not, there are procedures in place to make that LEO suffer, if you care to use them.

And while I am not an LEO and never have been, I would think that many of them are just like any good man/woman out working, trying to earn a living and do a job that the majority of Americans will appreciate. And trying to do that good job while operating within the guidelines established by the majority of American voters. I say that because the LEO's are only supposed to operate within law established by the legislators.

And who actually elects those legislators? The majority of Americans!.

So I can't really blame the LEO's for doing WHAT THEY PROBABLY THINK YOU AND I WANT THEM TO DO.

Now I will admit I recognize a huge difference between the local peace officers whom I indentify with, as compared to the federal LEO's such as ATFE, and the like. Somewhat different story there.

I viewed D.K.'s criticisms of LEOs the same way I view Highball's criticisms of NRA members. Basically that they are pawns of the "machine".

Perhaps I am viewing it too innocently, as I did not read the threads outside this forum, but I can only call it as I see it. I have heard nothing from D.K. that I haven't already heard in bits and pieces before from Highball, Gunphreak, Comengetit, or even have mentioned myself. I disagree with much of what you say D.K., but I agree with TR that your "posts have some kernals of truth".

    Wounded Wolf,

Let's assume I just went and took my meds. And let's pretend we can
use nothing but logic and intellect from here on.

    Let's view the facts.

    1. I am non violent

    2. I don't break any laws, even the ones I detest.

    3. I pay my taxes like I'm supposed to do.

    4. I am a productive citizen, contributing to the wealth
of the nation, as opposed to program leech.

    5. I don't smoke. I don't drink. I've never done drugs.
So in the long run I will not be any burden to society
    medically.

I have this one big flaw. I don't like cops, lawyers, or
anyone opposed in any manner to american freedoms. I believe we
    are more socialistic/fascist than democratic.

My crime is voicing those opinions. Because I do so without
hesitation or reservation, I believe I have drawn out the real
moral fiber of these LEO posters who say they attack my beliefs,
and not me. Yeah, right, and I'm the new Pope!

They want to harm me! They want to handcuff me. They want to put me in an mental institution. They want me to leave the country. They call my opinion "hate speech", yet I have NEVER advocated violence, and have repeatedly denounced violence. I have advocated non-participation and refusal to accept the status quo as anything but improper, nay, illegal and unconstitutional.

Hate speech? The final frontier of loss of liberty! Doesn't
hate speech require the the insistance of violence towards someone?
Boy, the ole hate speech crime! And yes. Trinity, that's a favorite of the Feds!

You DEA? FBI? ATF? NCIS? Homeland Security?

You know, at the Virginia gun show, city cops were taking ILLEGAL
action witnessed by other city cops. Why didn't the so-called
good guys ARREST the law breakers? You see, as a Viet Nam vet I've
grown accustomed to not knowing who the enemy is. After a while,
anyone dressed the part must be seen as the enemy.

If I shave my head. Put a bone through my nose. And wore a rastty T shirt with the letters KKK on it, would you give me a chace to
explain my non violent philosophy? Or would I be automatically
deemed guilty; We, why would you dress that way? EXACTLY! EXACTLY!

I also believe I have repeatedly placed the blame squarely on the
shoulders of the apathetic, self-serving 94% who would not defend
freedom in any manner, but would take a free ride!

Trinity, says he is a christian. I will take him at his word.
But at the same time, I will offer a PROPHECY.....The time is
soon coming that to speak forth the tenents of the Christian faith
will be deemed as "hate speech"!

I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to
    the Father except through me".

Deeply offensive in a PC society. Grossly exclusionary! You offend the Jews. You offend the Muslims. You offend the heathen,
and even more so with the term, heathen. You offend the atheist.
And most of all you offend the ACLU! I won't even mention the
    Buddists, etc.

I can just hear the rhetoric now. You Christian person, you are
a racist. You hate others because you would deny that their beliefs are "equal" as yours, and isn't it hate to say they will go to hell!
Judgement of others! What's your views on same sex marriage?

Seriously offensive, classic hate speech, by its' current definition

I admit my guilt then. I have said things that are not popular,
and that offend others. So much for our wonderful american tolerance!
Yet I'm the bad guy that won't defend the right of others to do and
say things I believe to be un-american?

I've had several of my friends, who are/were LEOs who tell me that
the most important aspect of being a LEO is the ability to remain
"cool" and "composed" under VERBAL attack. Anyone unable to do so,
is unfit for police duty since this is an everyday experience in the
rough neihborhoods of the big city. Not my opinion, gentlemen, but
actual hiring practice. And candidates are "baited" at interviews!

By all means, take the suggestions offered here, and go and read ALL
the other posts I made AND...AND the replies of our boys in blue.

Then you tell me what crimes I have committed. And then you tell me,
how many LEOs who replied to my posts are actually fit for police duty!

I think they are telling me that I am entitlled to my opinion,
as long as it doesn't disagree with theirs! Or somehow tarnish the knight in shining armour view they have of themselves. And in the end, they still cannot justify what they do for living!

Look closely at what they would like to do to me because of my opinions. I think we can see clearly why some who have been
arrested die while in custody for "unexplained" reasons. Some
poor sap had the misfortune of saying the wrong thing to a cop who didn't have the required temperment? Somer? most? all?
How do I tell them apart?

Talk about a one-way street! I ask you. Who pays the biggest price.
A cop who abuses a prisoner, or a citizen who insults or assults the
    cop?

David Nunn is the most respected LEO on these forums. Read his latest
post. It is easy to find...it's all capitals. Does this sound like
a guy who cherishes the first amendment? If it does to others who
    have opinions I respect, David I appologize![B)]

You know, guys like me didn't invent the "US vs THEM" attitudes.
That originated behind the blue wall.

If one does not yet exist here in america. I sincerely wish someone
less criminally minded than I would define "POLICE STATE" and
tell me what one looks like?

I sincerely need an explanation of how facism, socilaism, and elitism,
differs than what we are calling "democracy" now?

Just for fun. I'll go against my principles and medicate myself into
a quiet, attentive state. Educate me. PLEASE!

Ok then. Now it's your turn, (anyone) to show me or explain to
me how why where and when our governmental systems are working for
    the benefit of all citizens.

That's an intellectual challenge, gentlemen! Are you up to the
task? Or will just calling me a POS suffice in your version
    of america?

I suppose my education is insufficient by today's standards. I
was taught by an nice little ole Italian immigrant school teacher
the the greatness of america lies in our ability to allow all
opinions to be put forth and that those with the most merit would
survive. Contray opinions, even the most obnoxious were to be
    tolerated.

I don't think he could envison an america where laws have been
created to shut up opposing views. And that dirty, legal and political
moves whould be made to silence unpopular views. Those with views
of merit were not supposed to fear these views,

Now the common practice is to silence views those in power don't want us to hear. Hell, it's a common practice! We do it to each other right here! Shout them down! Lock them up and throw away the key!

Finald question. Why do we seem to disdain "whistle blowers" so much? I've never understood that one?

Wounded Wolf. Your comment....pawns of the machine. Almost correct.

What I have said, very confrontationally, is WILLING pawns of the machine! My final conclusion is that when this is recognized by
the offender, why doesn't the offender find an honorable occupation rather going to any length to justify the one he has?

That, in a nut shell, is why I paint with such a very wide
brush! And why I find anyone wearing the blue uniform disgusting.

D.K., I think you will find more allies in this forum than enemies. One Shot, TrinityScrimshaw, and the allmighty Nunn do not represent the average posters of this forum. In fact the past couple of days are the first time I have seen each of them post here with any regularity (I could be wrong on that, but I just haven't noticed you guys on a daily basis).

I think you will find some folks like Highball, Gunphreak, Comengetit, KYfatboy, dsmith, and some others that probably agree with you a hell of a lot.

As for me, I tend to agree with some of what you say, but I have not lost complete respect for LEOs. I think some of them are hoping to change things from the inside (like Nunn perhaps), most are probably oblivious to the "issues" and just do their job, and a few are truly malevolent to society through corruption or promoting a violent and totalitarian agenda.

I also still have faith in our country and our system. I think it is the best that this planet currently has to offer. It is far from perfect, but I believe we still have the ability to steer it onto the right path.

I understand your apathy. You will find a lot of members here who regularly exude apathy and frustration over many different issues. I totally respect your right to feel that way. Don't let the naysayers knock you down. All I ask is that you keep a sliver of open-mindedness before you completely give up all hope. I think even ole' Highball secretly hopes that things will work out in the end. [;)]

inside to change things? And most of all, how would you know that?

Let's not beat around the bush. I'd like to hear just what these Kernals are? And just what do I believe or say you have disagreement with?

We, even those who detest a PC environment, dance around and hee haw,
acting as though we are afraid to offend someone else.

Isn't it time we quit accepting buzz words and head nodding.

I SAY IT IS TIME FOR PLAIN SPEECH! IF you feel it and believe it,
    get it out, say it!

Because you know what I've discovered. You can learn respect that way.

Don't you think I can see the attempt Trinity is making to find
common ground with me? I sincerely believe when the dust settles,
Trinity and I will agree on more than we disagree.

Trinity will back me up on this, I am sure. From the abundance of the
heart, the mouth speaketh. And I find the best way to get someone
to speak from their heart is to piss them off!

Then proof of the pudding.. Trinity is willing to engage in dialogue,
although I am sure that my present attitude disgusts him personally.

That, my young Wolfy, is american philosophy in action! Put forth
the arguements and let the best one take root and grow!

    I dunno, I ain't a cop. Ask Nunn.

If he runs into a guy who happens to be carrying a concealed .22 while escorting his girlfriend home at night, yet the guy doesn't have a CCW, then does he cuff him?

If he encounters an FFL like Locust Fork, trying to do all she can to comply with ridiculous Federal regs and keep her gun shop open, does he bust her @ss even more and try to get her shut down?

If he comes upon a guy who accidentally discharged his gun while cleaning it, but only put a hole in his own floor and learned a hell of a lesson, does he cuff the guy and put him in the slammer for reckless endangerment?

Does he go around telling kids that guns are bad and evil and that they should never ever touch one and always stay away from them?

Does he tell a judge that because a potential rape victim pulled out a gun to scare off a rapist that all charges should be dropped against the scumbag because she is the real criminal for brandishing a firearm?

When a principal calls him because a child brought a G.I.Joe toy gun to school that violates the "zero tolerance" policy, does he head right on over and take the kid to juvenile hall?

I'm not gonna defend the cops, D.K. Those that truly believe in the 2nd Amendment should tell us how they are trying to change things themselves.

I'm not trying to argue with you WW.

I'm curious as to why you have ASSUMED that Nunn is one of the
good guys? How did you come to this conclusion?

You see, as a viet nam vet, I don't believe anything until I have the proof! That's why I didn't die there!

David has been given a free ride on these forums by people like yourself. WHY? I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it. I just
    don't understand, WHY?

You know, I can be anything I want on the internet.

I'm six foot six inches tall
    Weigh about 205 pounds
Look like an aged Sly Stallone physically
    Have an IQ of 165
Sadly, I'm so poor I can't even pay attention
Only own one gun and have never been hunting

And most importantly, every single person in Ohio
likes me, and I plan on running for governor next term.
    I'll be a shoo in

All the local LEOs come over for Sunday dinner
and we all target practice together with the free ammo
    I provide

And the proof I offer that I'm a good guy is:
    I possess an FFL
Was an "excellent" marksman while in service
I hold the office of deacon at my church (only cost me a $1000 donation)
My kids think I'm a great dad!

Does your life revolve around that little counter under your user name? I don't think we need to defend eachother here. We are all big kids. Some choose to do so from time to time. I even find myself doing it. It's human nature. I see you doing it. Like anything else you are going to have "groups". No we do not see things alike that is the one thing that makes these forums interesting. Every where you go you will run into people who want you to see things there way, no getting around it. Even with the stuff I do not agree with I will still learn something from it.

DK one of the flaws I have in life, is being what I feel to be an honest person, I gennerally assume others to be honest as well. That being said the post I make here, and other GB forums is what I am, and what I believe. I do realize there are those who use the internet as A means of living out some type of fantasy. However I do support NUNN, I do believe he is an honest peace officer. Why? I haven't been posting here for very long, I have been reading the post for about A year though. In all of the post I read that NUNN has posted, I believe him to be an honest man. Mr Scrimshaw, seems to be one as well. My jury is still out on him, but I will give hem the benefit of the doubt. There are others here that I believe to be honest peace officers, I get this from reading their post. Just as their are those, I do believe to be jbt's and really have no use for. So NUNN dosen't get A free pass from me, not like it really matters to him, but with the post that he has made, he has earned my respect. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thats OK, there are many people like me that would stop to help another in need. You have to stand for something or you will have lived for nothing. Like I stated before, it would seem you spend most of your time running from adversity rather than confronting it.

    Mr. One Shot,

What you hear is the frustration I feel after banging my head
against a brick wall for forty years and accomplishing absolutely
nothing! I've just given up. Run...No sir, I just stand by
in a rathr numb state and wonder How this once great land became
    how it is?

Nor sir, I'm too damn tired and beat up to run! [B)]

Wow, the spin zone is in full effect in here.

First of all, D.K., I don't recall ever saying that Nunn was a good cop. I don't know the man, I've maybe posted in the same threads as him 4 or 5 times that I recall. The only thing I said regarding his profession was "...some of them are hoping to change things from the inside (like Nunn perhaps)". Notice the PERHAPS, this is because I really don't know where Nunn stands on the issues. There are other folks on this forum that I respect that have a very high opinion of Nunn, so I have no reason to believe that he is a "bad" cop. But I did outline a few scenarios that would be intersting for any cop to answer.

Also, D.K., I don't know how I became the target of your frustration. I merely spoke up to say that I didn't understand why you were receiving so much hostility from others. The opinions that you express are no different than what have been expressed here by various other members over the past couple of years. Maybe the difference is that you actually went over to General with the intention of bringing a hornet's nest in here. I don't know, I don't hang out in General that much. As far as where I stand on your opinions, I think I've made it pretty clear. I understand your apathy towards our government and your suspicion of authority. However, I disagree that all hope is lost. I still believe in our Constitution, and although our system is broken in a lot of ways, I'm still willing to try and fix it within the bounds of the law. You appear to have abandoned all hope. I have not. Also, I don't think that all LEOs are bad. I think there are a lot of good cops out there that are trying their best to protect the innocent. I'm sure there are a lot that are conflicted about enforcing anti-gun laws. My hope is that maybe they will try to speak up and become politically active. Instead of going along with their union in supporting anti-gun measures, maybe they will speak out in support of our individual rights to bear arms.

One Shot, I've got 0.94 posts per day. If you take a look at my posts then you would know I'm not one of those responders with a "Yup", "That's right", or a smiley. I actually take the time to craft my posts with some thought. If 6 or 7 posts per week means to you that I have "no life" then I don't really care. I take enjoyment from this mental exercise. But I'm sure your time is so valuable that you probably won't even make it this far down in this response, so I may as well just be talking to myself.
