I had to do extensive work on this in order to get it so old eyes like mine could read it. (Just open the link and you'll see what I mean.) You may ask what this has to do with "Gun Rights And Constitutional Law", but I urge you to read on. It will become clear!! A lot of things should become clear!!!

    Who Are the Globalists?
    By: David Losey
    July 17, 2007 01:00 PM EST
    http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article/26722.html

Congress and the Bush administration have recently received some of the lowest approval ratings in the history of public opinion polls. As far back as 2005 a poll showed that the majority of the American people believed that our elected leaders, both Democrats and Republicans, are petty politicians fighting for personal gain while at the same time ignoring the major issues facing our country.

One of those issues is the forced implementation of a one-world government. On this point they are truly out of touch with mainstream America. They fail to understand that we, the American people, like our form of government and do not wish to be ruled by global leaders that we have not elected. Neither do we want to be made second class citizens by laws requiring wealth sharing. The laws of our country have enabled us to become the greatest nation in the history of mankind. We have been able to do this because our system of government allows us the freedom to prosper. We do not want, nor will we give up our sovereignty and rights granted by the Constitution.

And, yet, it seems that, against our wishes, this is exactly what is happening. Do not confuse this with the economic globalization process that has worldwide benefits. I am talking about political globalization that will determine who in the future will control all nations. I am talking about global governance/dominance that gives priority to world interests over our national interests. The question is, "Who will govern our country?" The fate of our country lies in the answer!

There are activists working within our borders who advocate a change from our system of government to a one-world government. The new politically correct term is "global governance". If they are successful our democratic system of government established by our Constitution would be replaced by international governing institutions. These institutions, for instance, would determine how our tax dollars are spent even to the point where we would be required to support efforts that would take away our rights and sovereignty as U.S. citizens.

For example, we would be required to support a United Nations standing army that could invade our country in order to enforce international laws against our will. Two critical concerns become readily apparent. First, our military would be required to serve under an international commander and to follow his/her orders. And second, any U.S. citizen could be charged (with a violation of law under the International Criminal Court), arrested, and tried without due process guaranteed by the Constitution.

This accelerated effort to change our government has been under way for over 50 years, roughly corresponding with the formation of the United Nations. During that time it has gained broad and extensive support within our country and our government. There are many prominent people who support this effort. Some are elected officials who serve in the U.S. Congress and/or the Executive Branch. Others are political appointees, broadcasters, journalists, educators, and wealthy individuals. The following information is provided in order to inform and motivate every American to take the necessary steps to prevent this change from happening. What, then, is global governance and who are the people who support it?

Answers to these two questions can be found by looking at leading advocates of world governance in the United States.

Citizens for Global Solutions (CGS) is a grassroots activists organization that is lead by Charles J. Brown (President and CEO). He was the spokesman for the U.S. delegation to the Rome Conference in 1998 that created the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Others activist groups are the World Federalists Movement and the Democratic World Federalists, a very active Northern California group that just happens to be represented by Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

The focus of this article will be on the activities of CGS. It has its roots in the World Federalists, USA (organized in 1969) and the World Federalists Association, which gained influence in the mid-1970s. Its members foresee "a future in which nations work together to abolish war, protect our rights and freedoms, and solve the problems facing humanity that no nation can solve alone." They intend to create the political will within the U.S. to realize this vision by "educating Americans about our global interdependence, communicating global concerns to public officials, and developing proposals to create, reform, and strengthen international institutions such as the United Nations."

They have organized events such as the United Nations Day, the United Nations Association Film Festival, a national High School Essay Contest, and an annual "Lobby Day" in Washington, D.C. to promote these goals.

They, also, have a Political Action Committee which "supports candidates for office. helping elect public officials who share our values and support the vision we seek to achieve." They provide questionnaires to candidates in order to determine if they share CGS's views and will publicly support them. The topics range from funding of global initiatives to supporting UN peacekeeping efforts. Candidates must indicate their specific support for the ICC and mandatory reductions in greenhouse emissions to be considered worthy of their endorsement. CGS claims to be non-partisan but, in fact, predominately works to elect Democrats. In the 2006 election, they enabled 8 new Senators and 13 new Congressmen to be elected. Their efforts, also, resulted in re-electing 138 incumbents. Overall, 159 of 176 candidates they endorsed were elected. They characterized these races as "pitting globally-minded individuals against those who would squander an opportunity to address the challenges of the 21st Century.

Staunch supporters of their globalist views have been such notables as Senator Alan Cranston, Albert Einstein, Strobe Talbot, Ted Turner, Justice William Douglas, John Kenneth Galbraith, Gloria Steinen, Mikhail Gorbachev, former President Jimmy Carter, Walter Cronkite and Presidential candidate/Senator Hillary Clinton.

Current public officials who they single out for special recognition for contributions in support of global governance are: Democrats Barack Obama, Russ Feingold, and Patty Murray and Republican Dick Lugar in the Senate.

Special recognition in the House goes to Democrats Bill Delahart, Emanuel Cleaver, Tom Lantos and Republicans Jim Kolbe and Chris Shays.

In 2006, the PAC worked to elect Senators Ben Cardin, Bob Casey, and Jim Webb who coincidentally were slated to be on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. This committee was already dominated by globalists (6 of 8 members received an A grade or higher from CGS). Assuming the Democrats stay in power, the addition of these three Senators puts CGS in a position to influence U.S. foreign policy for years to come.

CGS's influence covers a wide range of issues. Some issues it has championed are stopping John Bolton's nomination as Ambassador to the United Nations, the immediate ratification of the Laws of the Seas Treaty, and recognition of the International Criminal Court. The Stop Bolton campaign was successful in blocking his confirmation by the Senate on two occasions.

Another focal point is to build support for and/or influence legislation. An example is the Smith-Dodd Amendment that restored a previous $2.2 billion cut to the International Affairs Budget (Note: This amendment passed unanimously). A second example is the defeat of a motion by Ros-Lehtinen, ranking minority member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, to block the proposal to move authority over the Proliferation Security Initiative from U.S. control to a multilateral institution endorsed by the UN. (Note: The motion failed on a straight party line vote, 198-230.)

CGS, also, gives detailed analysis of the International Affairs Budget, which funds the State Department and key foreign affairs initiatives. It then follows up with a concerted lobbying effort to restore any cuts and/or increase funding to meet the demands of the UN or other non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

An excellent example of its influence is its effort to restore a 2008 budget cut proposed by President Bush. The President requested only $1.1 billion for U.S. obligations to UN peacekeeping efforts. The House, however, passed a bill calling for $1.3 billion, a $200 million increase. It considered the requested amount to be insufficient to meet anticipated assessments. House leadership characterized the President's request as poor planning and lacking commitment to the vital needs of a strong and robust peacekeeping mission.

In addition, CGS annually rates each and every member of Congress and assigns them a letter grade. Rep. David Obey, who chairs the Appropriations Committee, received an "A" from CGS along with a notation that he received "extra credit". Extra credit is given for making important contributions to global issues that are not reflected in roll call votes and for publicly promoting CGS's core issues. The restoration of budget cuts would certainly earn extra credit.

This rating system offers clear and specific indications about who in Congress favor a globalist agenda based upon how they voted on such global issues as:

    Climate change.
    Energy.
    Genocide in Darfur
    Global health and development.
    The International Criminal Court
    Nuclear proliferation.
    Torture.
    UN peacekeeping funding.

The rating process involves reviewing votes on 22 different roll call votes.

Each vote is weighted from 1 to 3 based upon the importance assigned it by CGS. (For example, defeating the nomination of John Bolton was weighted a 3.) Letter grades are then assigned based upon total points earned. (The complete list of grades can be found on globalsolutions.org.)

A Congressman can only receive an "A+" rating if he/she receives extra credit. As previously noted, extra credit can be earned by making important contributions to global issues and/or for publicly promoting CGS's core issues. A partial list of actions that would earn extra credit are:

Encouraging the U.S. Government to cooperate with the International Criminal Court.

Actively working to allocate an additional 1% of the U.S. Budget to Official Development Assistance.

Openly supporting mandatory reductions of greenhouse gas emissions as a component of a comprehensive energy program.

Openly supporting the effort to lift the cap on U.S. contributions to the UN from 25% to the assessed level, currently 27.1%.

Opposing legislation that attempts to secure changes in the UN through congressionally mandated withholding of UN dues.

Publicly advocating the creation of a UN Emergency Peace System that could rapidly respond to a man-made or natural disaster.

Actively opposing the appropriation of funds for the research, development and deployment of earth penetrating and other new forms of nuclear weapons.

In 2007, 28 Senators received A's. All were Democrats. A recap of the results shows that 13 received A+ grades indicating that they received extra credit. They were:

    Boxer of California
    Dodd of Connecticut
    Biden of Delaware
    Obama of Illinois
    Durbin of Illinois
    Mikulski of Maryland
    Levin of Michigan
    Reid of Nevada
    Clinton of New York
    Reed of Rhode Island
    Leahy of Vermont
    Cantwell of Washington
    Feingold of Wisconsin

Although not receiving A's, the following did receive extra credit:

    Democrats:
    Menendez of New Jersey

    Republicans:
    McCain of Arizona
    Lugar of Indiana
    Brownback of Kansas
    Coleman of Minnesota
    Hagel of Nebraska
    Smith of Oregon
    Specter of Pennsylvania

Recapping the House grades reveals that 133 Representatives received A's (132 Democrats and one Republican). 27 of the 132 Democrats received grades of A+ (Again, indicating that they received extra credit).

Pelosi, Lee, Lantos, Honda, Farr, Schiff, and Waxman of California
    Schultz of Florida
    Jackson of Illinois
    Wynn of Maryland
McGovern, Frank, Meehan, Capuano, and Delahunt of Massachusetts
    McCollum of Minnesota
    Carnahan of Missouri
Payne and Holt of New Jersey
Rangel, Engel, and Lowery of New York
    Blumenauer of Oregon
    Schwartz of Pennsylvania
    Doggett of Texas
    Moran of Virginia
    Baldwin of Wisconsin

The lone Republican, Chris Shays of Connecticut received an A-.

Democrats not receiving A+ grades but receiving extra credit are:
    Waters of California
    Cleaver of Missouri
Israel and Sorrano of New York
    Price of North Carolina
    Spratt of South Carolina
    Jackson-Lee of Texas
    Wolf of Virginia
    Mollahan of West Virginia
    Obey of Wisconsin

    Republicans receiving extra credit are:
    Fortenberry of Nebraska
    Smith of New Jersey
    Walsh of New York
    Burgess of Texas

Based upon this grading system, the above members of Congress are, without a doubt, globalists who want to take away our Constitutional guaranteed rights in order to attempt to form a utopian one-world government. If they represented me, I would contact them immediately to indicate that I am adamantly opposed to a one-world government. I would tell them that I am withdrawing my support until they change their position! If they don't, I will vote against them in the next election!

Globalist's efforts to influence public opinion are not just limited to influencing members of Congress. The movement is widespread and pervasive going far beyond the borders of the U.S. NGOs, like CGS, who lobby our nation's leaders in Washington every day, are also active in other countries where they actively push the one-world government agenda. An Internet search will reveal a number of NGOs in Canada, the U.K. and Europe who support global governance. It is, also, extremely important to realize that their support comes from a diverse cross-section of special interest groups.

For instance, The American Bar Association, Amnesty International, Beha'is of the U.S., The Coalition for the ICC, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Feminist Majority Foundation, the Human Rights Watch, the National Lawyers Guild, the Unitarian-Universalist Association, the United Nations Association of the USA, Veterans for Peace, The International Forum on Globalization, the International Progress Organization, and the Washington Kurdish Institute all support the effort for world governance in one way or another.

Augmenting the efforts of these groups are many prominent people who are very vocal and openly advocate one-world government. The following are just a sample.

"Nationhood as we know it will be obsolete, all states will recognize a single global authority." - Strobe Talbot, Former Deputy Sec. Of State, Under Bill Clinton.

"It is simply not feasible for sovereignty to be exercised unilaterally by individual nation-states, however powerful" - Maurice Strong, Co-Chairman UN Commission on Global Governance.

"The UN must be vastly strengthened to resolve the major global problems.. It must be empowered to adopt and enforce world laws and regulations." - Dr. Robert Muller, Chancellor Emeritus, UN University for Peace Costa Rica

"And since the Earth is in peril and the greatest part of humanity is still in misery, the remedies must be audacious and strong, even if they seem irrealistic (sic) or difficult to accept by those in power." - Dr. Robert Muller, Chancellor Emeritus, UN University for Peace Costa Rica

"Humanity needs world order. The fully sovereign nation is incapable of dealing with the poisoning of the environment.. The management of the planet. requires a world government." - Norman Cousins, Former President of the World Federalists.

"An empowered UN is our best hope for achieving such a goal-a global community that can solve our problems effectively and peacefully." - Walter Cronkite, Former CBS News Anchorman

"Until we have effective international law to forge genuine, enforceable international solutions, many of the most vexing problems we face will continue to defy remedy." - Walter Cronkite, Former CBS News Anchorman

"It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict, we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace. To do that, of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. That would be a bitter pill. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order." - Walter Cronkite, Former CBS News Anchorman

(Note: Hillary Clinton, as First Lady, endorsed Cronkite's views.)

Cronkite, also, made several suggestions for empowering/strengthening the UN.

**Establish a global democracy that would subordinate all nations to a world court, a world legislative body, and, a world executive.

**Provide for a standing army and an independent source of funds generated through taxation.

**Create a weighted system of voting in the General Assembly.

**Elevate the UN to government status and empower it to enforce all international laws.

**Limit the veto power of the permanent members of the Security Council.

    **Immediately ratify the ICC.

The efforts of activists, members of Congress and the Bush administration continue to go forward. The globalists are relentless. Any one who wishes to gauge their progress can merely look at the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) that is bent on forming a North American Union (NAU).

The SPP was established by fiat by President Bush at a meeting with Prime Minister Martin of Canada and President Fox of Mexico in 2005. It has no Congressional oversight and no laws have been enacted to grant President Bush approval to establish a Regional Government (the NAU). However, working groups, composed of representatives of each county, are making agreements and forging regulations on a variety of subjects (see spp.gov. for details).

The NAU will be patterned after other regional governments like the European Union, the African Union, the Union of South American Nations, the Central American Parliament and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The adoption of NAFTA and CAFTA were incremental steps that needed to be taken in order to place American citizens in the position of accepting a North American Union. Like it or not, working groups from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are proceeding with the SPP. Even though it is being denied, study groups, under the radar of the American people, are implementing the plan. When everything is in place it will be presented to the American people as a fiat accompli. The implication will be that it is simply too late to do anything about it.

The next major step in forging the NAU will be a meeting between Bush, Martin, and Calderon (the newly elected President of Mexico) in Montebello, Quebec on August 20-21, 2007 to discuss the progress on implimenting the SPP. The American press should be allowed free access including copies of the working groups' agendas followed by detailed reports of exactly what was discussed and agreed to. However, access has been denied to those who wish to monitor and report to the American people regarding these proceedings. They will be forced to view the proceedings from a distance. There is a 15 mile blackout zone around the Chateau Montebello that will be enforced by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the U.S. Army. If the Bush administration has nothing to hide, why are these proceedings not open to the press and any other interested citizens?

As frightening as all of this is, it cannot all be chaulked up to conspiracy theory or right-wing extremists who refuse to accept any responsibility for the future of our planet. It is real and it is happening according to a plan that was conceived with the understanding that one-world government would not occur on a specific date in time. Rather, it would be a gradual process that would take years. The expectation is that American sovereignty and the rights of its citizens would gradually be eroded until it would no longer be an issue.

We must not let that happen! If our elected officials are globalists and want us to move forward in support of a one-world government, then vote them out! Withhold all support! Do not contribute one dime to their campaigns, one ounce of energy, nor one minute of time to help them get reelected! "Lobby" them via letters, emails, faxes, and phone calls. And in spite of what arrogant officials, like Senator Lott, think, they are accountable to us. If jamming the Congressional swithboards is what it takes then that is what needs to be done. We have the right/obligation to express our views on important issues. Clearly groups like the CGS are not hesitant to express their's. In the end, elected representatives will respond to the wishes of the American people or they will find out what it is like to have to get a real job.

Stand firm for our heritage! We were the first country in the history of mankind to recognize "that all men were created equal, ...with certain unalienable rights ...." These rights include the right to live in a free country that allows us to prosper. These rights were NOT granted by government and CANNOT legally be taken away by government. They are ours to keep, forever. WE MUST NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE TAKEN AWAY! OPPOSE THE GLOBALISTS NOW!

No, my friends, our government has no intentions of pulling out of Iraq. Not next year. Not ever! Why? It is the desire of Big Business that we be there.

Speaking of personal self-defense, if you own a firearm and intend to have ammunition to put in that firearm, you might want to buy it while you can afford it. By the first of next year, the price of ammunition will be at least double what it is today, that is providing one can find it at all. The reason? Corporate America is selling the raw ingredients necessary for the construction of ammunition (at top dollar, I might add) to Red China. As with everything else, Corporate America would rather sell to Communist China than to the American people.

The writing has been on the wall for a long time. I've passed article after article concerning this and now it's ugly head has reared. I hope all of you can understand the implications and consequences on our economy, and way of life, if they carry through with this. Our politicians have sold us out for the own self-gratification and kick-backs (campaign contributions) from Corporations and big Business. I wonder when OUR "MSM" will break this story? It's no wonder the government wants all of OUR guns.

"...CHINA may liquidate its vast holding of US treasuries if Washington imposes trade sanctions..."

1). Beijing holds $1.33 trillion of foreign reserves as a political weapon to counter pressure from the US Congress.
2). It is estimated that China holds over $900 billion in a mix of US bonds.
3). It is now government policy that Beijing's foreign reserves will be used as a "bargaining chip" in talks with the US.
4). Russia, Switzerland, and several other countries have reduced the their dollar holdings.
5). China's trade surplus, which reached $26.9 billion in June.

I got this the other day. I'm finally calm enough to make a rational response. This just puts us one step closer to a complete "Police State". The Government (State/Federal) knows best and you have no "Right" to object to the "LAW(s)" they have contrived to relieve you of your decision making abilities!! Apparently we're all just to stupid to make good decisions. And amazingly it seems Rush simply views this as an example of AND I QUOTE: "The law is the law." Although he did concede that: "law being really rigid sometimes is not good law." AMAZING!!!

After you read the Rush Article, read the information in the links I've posted at the bottom and start connecting dots. Genetic screening, birth control for 11 year olds, abortion on demand, and on and on and on... Keep letting it happen "for the good of the children", or whatever contrived excuse they use. little by little, and see where we wind up!!!

quote:Subject:State Seizes Infant for Medical test

This just blows my mind...but it's to be expected when the government has too much control. The parents did not want the heel stick test and a judge issued an order and LEO took the baby away...the baby was being breast fed, not bottle fed, and with no adjustment, they took the baby!
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_103007/content/01125112.guest.html I'll get you started with a brief introduction:

"Eugenics is a word with nasty connotations but an indeterminate meaning". The first edition of the Encyclopedia of Bioethics' entry for eugenics notes that the term has had different meanings over time: "...a science that investigates methods to ameliorate (to make better or improve) the genetic composition of the human race, a program to foster such betterment; a social movement; and in its perverted form, a pseudo-scientific retreat for bigots and racists". With a stronger emphasis on its degeneration, Kelves says that by 1935 "...eugenics had become `hopelessly perverted' into a pseudoscientific facade for `advocates of race and class prejudice, defenders of vested interests of church and state, Fascists, Hitlerites, and reactionaries generally'".

    THE NEW WORLD DISORDER
    7-year plan aligns U.S. with Europe's economy
Rules, regs to be integrated without congressional review
    January 16, 2008
    By Jerome R. Corsi
    c 2008 WorldNetDaily.com

Six U.S. senators and 49 House members are advisers for a group working toward a Transatlantic Common Market between the U.S. and the European Union by 2015.

The Transatlantic Policy Network - a non-governmental organization headquartered in Washington and Brussels - is advised by the bi-partisan congressional TPN policy group, chaired by Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah.

The plan - currently being implemented by the Bush administration with the formation of the Transatlantic Economic Council in April 2007 - appears to be following a plan written in 1939 by a world-government advocate who sought to create a Transatlantic Union as an international governing body.

An economist from the World Bank has argued in print that the formation of the Transatlantic Common Market is designed to follow the blueprint of Jean Monnet, a key intellectual architect of the European Union, recognizing that economic integration must inevitably lead to political integration.

As WND previously reported, a key step in advancing this goal was the creation of the Transatlantic Economic Council by the U.S. and the EU through an agreement signed by President Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel - the current president of the European Council - and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso at a White House summit meeting last April.

Writing in the Fall 2007 issue of the Streit Council journal "Freedom and Union," Rep. Jim Costa, D-Calif., a member of the TPN advisory group, affirmed the target date of 2015 for the creation of a Transatlantic Common Market.

Costa said the Transatlantic Economic Council is tasked with creating the Transatlantic Common Market regulatory infrastructure. The infrastructure would not require congressional approval, like a new free-trade agreement would.

Writing in the same issue of the Streit Council publication, Bennett also confirmed that what has become known as the "Merkel initiative" would allow the Transatlantic Economic Council to integrate and harmonize administrative rules and regulations between the U.S. and the EU "in a very quiet way," without introducing a new free trade agreement to Congress.

No document on the TEC website suggests that any of the regulatory changes resulting from the process of integrating with the EU will be posted in the Federal Register or submitted to Congress as new free-trade agreements or as modifications to existing trade agreements.

In addition to Bennett, the advisers to the Transatlantic Policy Network includes the following senators: Thad Cochran, R-Miss.; Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.; Barbara Mikulski, D-Md.; Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; and Gordon Smith, R-Ore.

Among the 49 U.S. congressmen on the TPN's Congressional Group are John Boehner, R-Ohio; John Dingell, D-Mich.; Kenny Marchant, R-Texas; and F. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisc.

WND contacted Bennett's office for comment but received no return call by the publication deadline.

A progress report on the TEC website indicates the following U.S. government agencies are already at work integrating and harmonizing administrative rules and regulations with their EU counterparts: The Office of Management and Budget, the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

    A step toward world government:

The Streit Council is named after Clarence K. Streit, whose 1939 book "Union Now" called for the creation of a Transatlantic Union as a step toward world government. The new federation, with an international constitution, was to include the 15 democracies of U.S., UK, France, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and South Africa.

Ira Straus, the founder and U.S. coordinator of the Committee on Eastern Europe and Russia in NATO, a group dedicated to including Russia within NATO, credits Bennett as TPN chairperson with reviving Streit's work "seven decades later."

A globalist with leftist political leanings, Straus was a Fulbright professor of political science at Moscow State University and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations from 2001 to 2002.
The congruity of ideas between Bennett and Streit is clear when Bennett writes passages that echo precisely goals Streit stated in 1939.

One example is Bennett's claim in his Streit Council article that creating a Transatlantic Common Market would combine markets that comprise 60 percent of world Gross Domestic Product under a common regulatory standard that would become "the de facto world standard, regardless of what any other parties say."

Similarly, Streit wrote in "Union Now" that the economic power of the 15 democracies he sought to combine in a Transatlantic Union would be overwhelming in their economic power and a clear challenge to the authoritarian states then represented by Nazi Germany and the communist Soviet Union.

Also writing in the Fall 2007 issue of the Streit Council journal "Freedom and Union," World Bank economist Domenec Ruiz Devesa openly acknowledged that "transatlantic economic integration, though important in itself, is not the end."

"As understood by Jean Monnet," he continued, "economic integration must and will lead to political integration, since an integrated market requires common institutions producing common rules to govern it."

    Transatlantic Common Market by 2015:

Last February, the Transatlantic Policy Network formed a Transatlantic Market Implementation Group to put in place "a roadmap and framework" to direct the activity of the Transatlantic Economic Council to achieve the creation of the Transatlantic Common Market by 2015.

The Transatlantic Economic Council is an official international governmental body established by executive fiat in the U.S. and the EU without congressional approval or oversight. No new law or treaty was sought by the Bush administration to approve or implement the plan to create a Transatlantic Common Market.

The U.S. congressmen and senators are involved only indirectly, as advisers to the influential non-governmental organization.

In a February 2007 document entitled "Completing the Transatlantic Market," the TPN's Transatlantic Market Implementation Group writes, "The aim of this roadmap and framework would be to remove barriers to trade and investment across the Atlantic and to reduce regulatory compliance costs."

The document further acknowledged the impact the Transatlantic Common Market agenda would have on U.S. and European legislators: "The roadmap and framework will necessarily oblige legislative and regulatory authorities in both Europe and the United States to take into consideration from the outset the impact their acts may have on transatlantic economic relations and to ensure that their respective governmental bodies involved have the necessary budgetary and organizational resources to work closely with each other."

    Clinton administration roots:

The work to create a Transatlantic Common Market can be traced back to the Clinton administration's decision to join in the 1995 New Transatlantic Agenda with the European Commission.

Today, the website of the Transatlantic Economic Council openly proclaims the TEC is "a political body to oversee and accelerate government-to-government integration between the European Union and the United States of America."

The first meeting of the TEC was held Nov. 9 in Washington, D.C., and the next meeting is scheduled for June.

A joint statement issued at the Nov. 9 meeting specified progress was being made "in removing barriers to trade and investment and in easing regulatory burdens" in a wide range of policy areas, including drugs and disease control, the importation into the EU of U.S. poultry treated with pathogen reduction treatments, federal communication commissions allowing suppliers to create declarations of conformity for products, uniform standards for electrical products and agreements on standards for pure biofuels.

Movement toward political consolidation is basically inevitable. The real battle is what that consolidation is going to look like. We are pretty much focused on gun rights here which in my opinion represent a core part of American sovereignty and citizenship. They are a bell weather for how other rights are going to be handled by the all but inevitable world body that is forming slowly.

Rather than try and fight the inevitable, I think the best course is to influence it so as to preserve our rights. My ideal world government would be based on our constitution. Anyone here have a better model for a government? It includes the 2nd Amendment.
