A WWII Veteran that made 3 landings in the Pacific?
He's 85 yrs old. I was going there to hear his stories but over a year ago I had a stroke.
If you are willing to send a letter or card email me and I will give you the address. Thanks....Ed

What surprises me is how often it totally takes them by surprise that you are thanking them.
You also have to have the "correct address" in profile.
Thanks............Ed

a hat that indicated he was a Korean vet. I walked up
to him and said that I'd noticed his hat and thank you
for your service. I think I made his day.
...Later, there was a young reservist in line at the mini
mart. I caught his attention and also thanked him for
serving. He looked at me like I was from Mars and mumbled
"Yeah, whatever". I'll keep thanking them, no matter what
their response may be.
Every morning on the way to my daughters daycare we pass the veterans cemetery in Delaware, every morning my daughter (now 2.5 years old) says "thank you soldiers" because her dad taught her to. I figure they are never to young to start teaching them to appreciate what they have.[;)]
Nobody thanked us 40 years ago, and I am making certain our nation does not make the same ugly mistake today. It gives me particular pleasure to do so in front of my grandchildren, kinda showing them how to do it.
My favorite so far: a couple of years ago, saw one old fellow with a modern jacket that said "Flying Tigers Reunion" on it. Wow! Asked him if that says what I thought it did, and he said yes -- he was a flight photographer for them in China. 1940 or 41, I can't remember.
DLR50, you have to turn on the Email in your profile. I had to also.
Sorry, my email is on now.
These WWII heros kept Hitler from making us live under Nazi Socialism. Now we get to live under Obama socialism. I think I might like Hitler better.
