Panic food buying

As we have all seen, the public has gone into mass panic mode and pretty much cleaned out the grocery stores of foods.
I am set with enough food for a month, but have added to my shelves to keep me in better condition as this goes on.
However, I am getting non-perishable foods. Yet I see people loading up with all the fresh meat and milk they can get.
So since mine is 95% non-perishable, I am utilizing takeout from local places to preserve my supplies in the event it gets really bad and the eating places are not getting restocked. Plus it helps keep them afloat as best as possible.
I see other people burning through their food supplies they just bought and are back in the store looking for more to take home. People need to plan better.

They aren't looking tempting...yet
Cat is good.
Reminds me of the 22lr ammo shortage...from back in the day
- Most of the frozen bags of chicken cuts, fresh red meats, eggs (68 cents/doz grade A Large), beans, peas, rice, and pastas, soups, cereals, ice cream and other frozen foods, laundry and cleaning supplies, dry and evaporated milk were gone or in shorter supply.
- Still a good selection of fresh produce, milk, candy, crackers, available.
Methinks there was some panic buying going (well duh!). Still the buyers seemed to be a bit cautious by buying what could be frozen or stored long term, what may be their favorite foods (ice cream and cereals) to keep the kids happy or quiet.
I hope to go back the next few weeks to shop and see if the buying patterns continue. Perhaps the wallets will empty, the freezers and shelves will be filled, or the panic will be over.
What I buy will depend on what I run out of, plus a little extra, and what I want to add to my SHTF supply. I recently was able to buy a few bars of Fels Naptha to balance out the supplies for making laundry soap.
Interesting times.

A worker could show no sign of the virus but could be infectious?
We sympathize with the restaurants but the fast food outlets are all open and they aren't staffed with the upper echelon of society.
And where they live in close contact is where the virus is expanding.
Oh and the news showed a liquor store in West Depford with the idiots standing on top of each other waiting in line.
Then there's these wonderful neighbors the politicians are afraid to call out and ARREST
