Friday morning at the sales counter.......................................
I need a new set of batterys for my S&W .380 Bodyguard. No problem. I can put them in for you while you wait.
As most of you know, the S&W Bodyguard's, both the .380 pistol and the .38 Special revolver, the laser and batterys are built into the frame of the gun. So, I field strip the Bodyguard .380 and find that the batterys and the whole laser system is kind of a brown sticky slim. Go back to the counter and ask the customer about this and show him. He said that he cleans his guns by putting them in a heated, ultra-sonic solvent tank !!!! This will need more than new batterys.
Called a customer to tell him we had gotten in some S&W Shield EZ's in .380 and that he was on the waiting list. He said the gun was going to be for his wife as she liked how easy it was to work the slide, but since we didn't have any .380 ammo, he would not buy the gun. He said that since we didn't have any .380 in stock, he wasn't going to buy the gun, his wife can do without and if we didn't start stocking .380 ammo, he would not shop here again. The next name on the list was called and was here in about 10 minutes.
Can you order me 2 plugs for my barrels? What? Plugs for my barrels, I'm taking the muzzle brakes off and want to plug the threads. Ahhhh..... you mean thread protectors. No problem, what size / pitch are the threads on the barrels? I don't know. Do threads come in different sizes?
I want to order a "Ubert", single shot .45 Colt revolver.
Just hangin' on until 4:00....................

Every thread is the same size thankfully. That's why 1/2" bolts fit into a 3/8" nut.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
When I read your post it really made me happy that I am retired and don't have to bite my tongue anymore while helping people at the gun counter. 🙂 Bob
They live among us!
Is that like drilling a hole smaller?
who needs plugs, don't you all have any duct tape???????
And don't even get me started on Double-Start barrel threads.

Agree, all bolts and nuts are the same, threaded.
I may be a nut but i am screwed on to the right bolt.🙃
You mean you can't??? 😂 (Try telling my wife that)...

It takes a very talented gunsmith to ream a hole smaller, so I am told. Amend.

Yessir, a Worls Class gunsmith if I remember correctly.
I have a fairly old and rare circular saw in my Shop.
I use it to cut boards longer.
You could probably use that saw with my elastic measuring tape. Works good with the rubber straight edge.

I didn't know life will leave a mark! 😲
Those undersize parts will have to go on a smaller airplane
I have a bunch of nails that are defective; the head is on the wrong end.
there not defective they are made for opposite sides of a wall 😁
I can imagine what you see in a gun shop. On the other side of the coin I cannot tell you how many times I have gone into a gun shop to look at something and the sales guy either is a ahole or ASSumes I know nothing about firearms. When I meet either I just ask them to go away and help someone else.
I used to tell people that if they spent the week before deer season in a gun shop, they would never set foot in the woods again.
How true !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use up some of my vacation the week before deer season, so I don't have to deal with them.
I firmly believe that most whitetail deer are suicidal and just run at the bullet. Seems to me that's the only way some of these expert hunters get one.
