Gas insanity has arrived in NC

Sam06Sam06 Member Posts: 21,244 ✭✭✭✭

I went to my favorite taco truck that parks by a gas station. Lines were out of the lot and in the road. Drove by a few other gas stations all were covered up with people in lines or were out of gas, it was like back in the 70's. Thanks to our Governor who is a libtard POS this is happening.

I sat on a pick-nick table with some Mexican guys and practiced my spainish(which is not too bad) and waited for a fight to start over getting gas. But it didn't happen. One of the guys was the owner of a sprinkler installation business and he also does landscaping. He asked me if I needed a job or knew anyone who needed work. He said he cannot get people to work for him because they are getting paid to stay home. I had to turn him down and tell him I didn't know anyone looking but would keep him in mind.

But

The Tacos were OUTSTANDING! I ate 3 Taco lengua's and I drank a Tecate that was ice cold😋

I didn't need gas because I filled up on Sunday like I normally do.

In the little town of Marshall NC, there is no gas. Ingles is out and the Exxon is out.

Exxon was supposed to get a delivery this morning at 5 am but it never arrived. They don't know when they will get gas.

Same here. Just went out and topped off truck and filled up all of my containers. Seen a lot of plastic bags on pumps

Oddly enough I live here in Charleston SC and we have great big tanks of something all along the river way in North Charleston, I would think some of that might be gasoline but we too are being held up by the BS and prices have soared up .30-.40 cents a gallon in one day!

I was driving home and saw lines forming at a bunch of stations, I'm doing my part I parked the Hemi and I'm driving the Kia!

Wonder how the Millenials like their stimmy checks going to BP and Exxon?

Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

I just got back from the grocery store/gas run here in mid Michigan. I was surprised that my usual station went down 10 cents. No lines and plenty of gas. You would think if they can't pipe it to the east from Louisiana then the Midwest should get cheaper because of the extra gas that is available. I won't hold my breath for that happening and I expect to see increases in the next few days just because the producers and gas stations will get greedy. Bob

Wife called and is in a gas line.

    LOL

I told her to fill up yesterday and she blew me off. She called me all flustered and all I said was "told you so".

Here in Georgia we have plenty of gas and the governor has eliminated the state tax per gallon to keep prices down. Hope y'all recover soon, we don't need any more crisis happening in this country.

I don't know where you are junkballer but my girlfriend was in Roswell last night. She has to drive back up here to the mountains tomorrow. She was unaware of any problem and her tank was on E when I called her at 8am.

I told her she better get out and get some gas and get out, now! She did. The first 4 stations were sold out and she lucked out, about 9 am today, to find a station that still had a little gas. She got a tankful, enough to get home tomorrow.

Morons at work. Same as the t paper fiasco.

Not sure where the PLENTY of gas is in Ga. Places around here are out or limiting to 10 gallons only! The gov did remove the tax, SHOULD save about 28 cents per gallon. Gas is between 2.89 to 3.25 in the stations around central Ga. I fully expect them to go over $4 and run out. Even IF they "fix" the pipeline issues, gas will stay above $3 for some time to come!

  • NeoBlackdogNeoBlackdog Member Posts: 17,288 ✭✭✭✭

If we could figure out a way to power our vehicles on all the hot air coming out of Washington D.C. we'd never have an issue.

  • notnownotnow Member Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭

Another good question is has the price of electric vehicles gone up as suddenly as the price of gas.

Just like ammunition and plywood . . . as soon as they determine how much people will pay for it, they will charge that much - from then on.

Why sell for less, if folks will pay more (as demonstrated by when they paid more)?

    Plenty of gas in Texas.

Sorry, I did mis-speak by my saying Georgia, I should've said my area of Georgia (50) miles North of the Florida state line and 50 miles East of the Alabama line..... yes, so for it's been unaffected and prices are stable, what may happen later no one can predict. Today I paid 2.62 per gal. before the tax rollback which was less per gallon that I paid last Friday.

Here in central Florida it’s starting. Half of the stations were out and the ones that had gas have long lines out into the street. It took me two stations to fill up tonight driving into work. First station ran out of gas as I was pumping so off to the next station to finish filling up.

  • mohawk600mohawk600 Member Posts: 5,529 ✭✭✭✭

please don't come to Texas....for lower prices.........plenty of supplies, and good governence.

  • Ditch-RunnerDitch-Runner Member Posts: 25,389 ✭✭✭✭

well not counting electricity ( just a jab nothing against Texas I would love to live there

  • mogley98mogley98 Member Posts: 18,291 ✭✭✭✭

Media is fanning this fire too, if they wouldn't howl about it everybody wouldn't be out filling up every container they have!

I need to go to GA and do some stuff for my Dads estate and I cannot due to the gas problem. I called some friends there and they waited an hour to get gas and some stations are now out. I am not sure how it is in SC. My Car id full and will make it to GA on one tank but I have to get gas to drive around and drive back to NC. I guess I am going to wait it out.

  • mike55mike55 Member Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭✭

Just wait! You are simply gonna be last to run out. We are out because of the pipeline, which Texas does not need. Trust me, the powers to be will not be satisfied until ALL states feel the pain:(

  • mike55mike55 Member Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭✭

Also, when fuel gets low in all the East coast states, then the govt will no longer be able to bus/fly all the illegals OUT of Texas. Prob going to be keeping a LOT of the illegals inside Texas now, not good news for Texas.

Have you seen the gas pump fight in NC?

    C&P

Frustrations were high on Tuesday as people rushed to gas stations to top off their tanks amid fears of a fuel shortage caused by the shutdown of a major pipeline. One man caught an intense altercation on camera at a Marathon gas station in Knightdale.

The man, who wanted to be identified only as Rashaad, said he was in line for gas when he saw a fight break out between a man and woman at one of the pumps.

He said he was waiting to get gas at the Marathon station around 2 p.m. when a woman in a white sedan tried to cut the long line.

When no one would let her in, Rashaad said she ran into a gray Honda at one of the pumps.

He said that, after crashing into the man's car, the woman got out and spit on the man while yelling.

The man then got out of the car and spit on the woman.

Rashaad said that's when the fight began. The video he took captured the two push and pull at each other for a while before police arrived.

The Raleigh Police Department and the Durham Police Department said they did not have any reports of fights at the pumps on Tuesday.

    ---------------end----------------

I don't know about ya'll but if someone spit on me it would be on like donkey-kong regardless of what type of chromosomes they have.

I have also read the 1/4 of the gas stations have no gas in the Raleigh area.

I am sort of retired and work one or two days a week if I want to.Other than that I have plenty of gas for the zero turn and trimmer and have absolutely no problem staying home and working on whatever needs to be worked on in my shop.

  • Sam06Sam06 Member Posts: 21,244 ✭✭✭✭

Yea but you have to eat. Fuel runs out, trucks stop driving and delivering goods. Its called a domino effect.

BINGO^^^^^^^^This will be the REAL problem. You thought people went crazy when they couldn't get "TP for my bonghole" just wait until they can't get FAST food, much less groceries! Could get real bad REAL quick :(

And it's going to happen. Guessing an electric grid net. Joey will advise again, wear a mask while the power is out.

They just said that 78 percent of gas stations in the Asheville area are out of gas. My girlfriend is driving up here right now from Atlanta, via Gainesville. She found a gas station open north of Gainesville this morning and topped up the tank. This is a 220 mile trip so she will still have some gas left when she gets here. That is a good thing because there is no gas in my county.

I am going to downtown Asheville today to help my brother coach a soccer team. No gas problems for us we will go in my brother's Tesla. We are going right down Merriman Avenue and will do a survey as we pass about 28 gas stations on that road, I want to see if a single one is open.

  • mike55mike55 Member Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭✭

I would drive a tesla too, if I had $120,000 to spare on a CAR 🥺. The tesla will help, but will NOT help the TRUCKS deliver EVERYTHING that people need/want to survive. I plan on working until I get to 50% fuel left in my vehicles, then gonna burn leave. I'm keeping enough to get around in case of emergency.

  • mike55mike55 Member Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭✭

Not knocking the tesla, just pointing out the fact that Tesla is out of reach for most people. Kudos to him for being able to afford one! I'm sure he will be VERY popular if things don't get better soon!

  • allen griggsallen griggs Member Posts: 35,696 ✭✭✭✭

    His Tesla cost $64,400.

He is not a warrior for Climate Change he thinks Climate Change is a bunch of bs. He just bought it because he wanted a nice sporty car.

And I must say that car is a lot of fun to drive. Unbelievable acceleration. Yes kudos to him to be able to afford it. He got a degree from Ga. Tech. When I was 27 I was riding freight trains around the country and having fun and I was broke. At age 27 my brother had a job at a big textile plant, with his engineering degree, and he was putting money away in a 401 K.

I had more adventures than he did, but he has more money than I have.

  • mike55mike55 Member Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭✭

Yep, I know in text/forums it's hard to convey tone. I really did mean kudos to him! I would love to have one, they are FAST and fun. It's simply not plausible for me. I could use it for travel to and from work, that would be awesome. But that's about it. I need my truck to haul, and expedition to haul people. IF I had enough to spare them a Tesla would make a great addition. I even looked at cheaper cars, like 30mpg gas burners, but I couldn't save enough in gas money to justify the costs.

That's the American way! Work hard, EARN money, save money, and buy EXACTLY what you want! 😁

  • JunkballerJunkballer Member Posts: 9,312 ✭✭✭✭

Y'all are getting me really concerned now 😯, my Silverado is full and so is my wifes SUV, think now I'll go fill up my Jeep and my spare farm truck just in case......may even have an old motorcycle with an empty tank parked somewhere around here, I'll have to check that out too 😁

On my way to work today most of the gas stations had gas and the lines looked normal at most.

  • Sam06Sam06 Member Posts: 21,244 ✭✭✭✭

I just read that 65% of gas stations in NC are empty.
