He needs to go to jail.
Immediately tried to blame someone else, then gets on his cell. Probably calling his lawyer.
One of those things that shouldn't happen but does. Prayers for her family.
Hope they guy recovers fully.
Heck even if it was intentional (I know it wasn't) but even if it was, that azzwipe would walk in todays screwed up world.
Highly unlikely a charge
I keep saying that if libs want to ban guns, they should start by banning them from movies and video games. Where do they think that young hoodlums get their inspiration to shoot people?
If there was criminal negligence in this, it has to be shared by both Baldwin and the prop master. There should NEVER be live ammo anywhere on the set.
It was a real gun with a real bullet.
Prop gun does not mean a fake gun.
I just sold a "prop gun" last week that was used on a Navy Seal movie and it is very real. Bruce Lee's son, Brandon Lee was killed on a movie set here in Wilmington, N.C. a few years back with a prop gun.
In Bruce Lee's case if I recall correctly the gun had a squib and a real bullet was in the barrel that the blank then fired, have not heard any details on this one yet but something certainly went wrong.
I just read an update and the story is now the "prop" gun had a live round in it.
It goes to basic gun safety that we should all have learned before we got to shoot the very first round.
Baldwin is a leftist tool and probably playing with it as he knows nothing about them except they need banned. The jerk will walk end of story.
Why does he have guns on a set if he is sooooo bent on banning them? Now he is a killer imo.
...Prayers for all involved in this horrible situation...
...Rocky Raab..."I keep saying that if libs want to ban guns, they should start by banning them from movies and video games"
...Really?...I'm surprised at you...the words "should ban guns from..." in ANY form on a GUN forum??
...ONE gun ban law breeds another and another, and another, the more anti gun laws that are passed, the MORE will be passed, guess for some that, thats Ok..., those words will never cross my lips...as the entire "picture" is WAY bigger than me...
Here's another accidental shooting. At a western theme park in NJ, a teenage actor loaded his revolver with live rounds (that he found in the locker room) instead of blanks. During a skit, he shot another actor in the head, leaving that man paralyzed.

My thoughts exactly, TAFKAD.
Not a fan of the guy, but there was no reason to suspect a live round in a prop gun given to him.
While most of would have verified the chamber or cylinders were empty upon receiving the gun, a person with little or no knowledge of firearms would not think to do so.
Sad for all involved.

If you cause the death of another, it’s, at the minimum, involuntary manslaughter.
I don't see it in Baldwin's case.
Involuntary Manslaughter
Involuntary manslaughter is defined as an unintentional killing that results either from criminal negligence or the commission of a low-level criminal act such as a misdemeanor. Involuntary manslaughter is distinguished from other forms of homicide because it does not require deliberation or premeditation, or intent. Because neither of these mental states is required, involuntary manslaughter is the lowest level category of homicide.
Perhaps the person who loaded the gun, or allowed a loaded gun onto the set could be guilty of criminal negligence, but I don't see how you could include Baldwin.

Yikes.
If you're the one pulling the trigger, you're the one ultimately responsible for where any bullet goes. So, regardless of whatever is believed about how safe guns are on movie sets and so forth, Baldwin pulled the trigger with a loaded gun and is culpable. To what degree, I guess the courts will decide. To me, sounds like negligent homicide, at the least. Could be murder if there was intent obviously. Time and facts of the case will tell.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Texas, my point is that libs are hypocrites; they revel in gun use of all kinds but ONLY in movies and games. They claim that showing cigarettes, drugs, or booze in movies encourages the use thereof, and therefore those things are no longer featured. But they disavow the same claim regarding guns.
No, I do not want gun restrictions of any kind for real people.
Either way, this could have been prevented.
Just a thought I had. To those lacking knowledge could it be easy for them to mistake a wadcutter round for a blank. Long shot as no live ammo should be on the set. This thought lead me to another. I've found rounds in new ammo boxes that didn't belong as in loaded with the wrong bullet. Could someone at the ammo manufacturer make the same mistake, a wadcutter mistaken for a blank.
Just my mind wondering into different scenarios that could lead to something like this. Most likely it's something more simple. There has to be some negligence along the line for this to happen, seems like more than one instance.
The film is dead now.............and BALDWIN has to live with his role. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy [green font on]. I feel sorry for the victims, but BALDIE can kiss my *.
That is why you never allow a young child (or an adult with the judgment of one) to handle a loaded gun.

He is a liberal, he has no conscience.
They are now calling it a "misfire" and are saying it had happened more than once on this set. The union crew was walking and had been replaced by non union employees. I have worked movies as well as stage production and I can tell you having a union crew walk due to working conditions, and then replacing them with non union, well that would not make for a happy work place. The whole thing sounds kind of mickey mouse to me, but what would you expect from this clown??
Why would anyone, even a moron, point ANY gun at a person!
Crap. Now Baldwin will hate guns more than ever.
In cases like this is blood drawn from all involved ?? Baldwin does have a history and well known bad temperment.
"Never do wrong to make a friend----or to keep one".....Robert E. Lee
Totally agree Dano
Dano, Even after you double check it, you still don't point it at anyone.
Hell no. You don't point a gun at anything you aren't willing to destroy. On tv or a movie the camera doesn't tell you where the gun is actually being aimed. Unless it is a scoped weapon with those funky reticles they have on movie guns.
Romance gone bad? He does have one heck of a temper.
Treat every gun as if it is loaded
From transcripts of the 911 call, it sounds like perhaps the assistant director handed baldwin the gun. Maybe more than 1 person didn't do their job. The firearms "expert" on the set won't likely get much future work. Much as I dislike baldwin, I guess we'll have to wait and see if he has any culpability. Sad situation all around. Like any other violent death, it could have been easily avoided.
Agreed 2x. When someone hands you a gun, you are responsible. Loaded or "unloaded" doesn't matter.
I agree, That principle was my FIRST instruction !
The property master should never hand ANY weapon to a mental defective ! ... this person shares responsibility with the idiot ! 😉
If someone handed me a gun and told me to point it at someone and pull the trigger, I’d open it myowndamnself and check it, twice, to make SURE it wasn’t loaded with real ammo.
EVEN IF the Armorer swore up and down it was “cold” and I had zero firearms safety training. I’d figure out how to open it and check with my own eyes.
”You’re holding up the production!” “Tough cookies, this is a LIFE we’re talking about here.”
She is Thell Read's Daughter.
Baldwin killed her. Others may share blame, but he pulled the trigger.
Im waiting for more FACTS to come out(if they do!). If the gun had a real bullet, then MAYBE not baldwin's fault( I say maybe because I look at ever round before I shoot). BUT if they were in fact blanks, then he is at fault. Blank ammo still has a kill distance. Shoot someone too close with a blank and they will die. So, I need more facts. How close was he to the victim, was there an actual projectile(which I highly doubt) AND if there was a projectile, was it intentional?!
Maybe because they were filming a movie...........with a shot toward the camera angle?
Looks like it was the fault of the armorer and Billy Boy for not making sure it wasn't loaded with live rounds.
Why would they have live rounds on a movie set anyway?
