Enough!!!

I think the people of Ukraine have suffered enough. I say send in the UN Troops. If that doesn't work which may not, send in our guys with their boots on the ground. Putin obviously is not to concerned about economic sanctions even though they are destroying the Russian people and their country.

It is time I fear to call Putin's Threat/Bluff. Our people must know by now how his brain ticks, Even Gates former director of the CIA says he is a Cold Bloodied Killer. I was on Red Alert when President Kennedy turned the missiles around in Cuba. Sometimes their is "Nothing to Fear but Fear Itself"

I know we can't police the whole world and your view may be different. I understand that. I think the Ukrainians have had enough.--------------------------------Ray

I think we need to do more. If we don't stop Putin, then I really think China is going to take advantage of our inaction to try and invade Taiwan.

We may still end up in a World war.

For one, I'm glad we're not in this dog fight but well aware it could change over time. Also I'm very happy to see oppressed people fight their own fight unlike many countries that depend on other nations sons and daughters to do their fighting. People who've never dodged bullets and incoming rounds don't really have any real idea what war is. Let's set on the side for a while, they'll be time enough for us to go if needed.

Sending in UN forces is impossible. Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council and can veto any such action.

The only reason UN forces went to Korea is that the old Soviet Union was staging a boycott and was not present to veto the resolution.

Make no mistake, the debacle that was the pull out of Afghanistan was done that way intentionally. The result was so expected and boring to Joe, he just checked his watch during the dignified transfer ceremony while the despondent families of the fallen servicemen looked on.

Some will die in hot pursuit

That is pouring like an avalanche

I knew from the start this would be controversial and i have earned myself a disagree but i had to know what the members thought. Pretty much surmised that use of NATO forces was hopeless and probably illegal.

Warbirds, i would say you are just about spot on. I hope your post will prove to be true.

Yes, Boots on the Ground can be very painful. My 1st cousin and fishing buddy was KIA in Nam 11/23/1967. Grandpa was in the trenches in France. Dad was a medic WW2. My uncles i can't talk about. Uncle Grayson's youngest son was a tanker in the Storm and was never the same when he came home and took his own life. My nephew was entering the Green Zone to Baghdad and hit a IED. It killed his CO sitting next to him (West Pointer) His CO's body and field radio saved his life. Got shrapnel in face and right leg. Got out after 12 years and a lot of time in 5th SF GP. Re-entered after two years and is now a CSM at Bragg.

Sorry, did not mean to ramble on about my Army blood line. Carry on.-----------Ray

(checks his pockets) Let's see, a fuzz ball, bit of lint, A buck twenty five in change, 560,000 barrels per day of oil, a gum wrapper, twenty-two shell...

Now then, what's that you were saying? You need oil? Got all you want right here. Just let me turn the switch back on.

After all of this is over with they'll be only one type of winner....the arms dealers....every nation on earth right down to the smallest & poorest will be stockpiling weapons and munitions of every type known. If you're a shooter now is the time to stock up, prices won't be going down anytime soon.

The oil companies own the wells and the oil. They pump it, transport it, refine it and sell it. They're international companies. Not American companies. It's theirs. Not ours. If anyone thinks the price of gas is bad now, just imagine what it would be if the Russian oil was taken out of the market.

3/3/2022 7:15PM I just looked at the carnage. I knew it would come to this. Putin is a Madman. Who will stop him?---------------------------------Ray

Reports say his troops are shelling the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

If so he has lost his mind for sure.

I just watched it on the boob tube and the place is blazing away. The structures in that area look as bad or worse than Berlin, London, Dresden. He is holding the world hostage with his missiles and now he just might contaminate half of Europe.----------------Ray

The clowns running our government now can't even defend our own border, getting involved with another countries war isn't our problem but if you want to fly over there yourself and fight then knock yourself out.

Where are the foreign fighters to help and why not send privet contractors like Black Water.

We have chosen to withdraw from the role of "the World's Policeman."

It is not our citizens who are paying the price of our self-indulgence.

Troops are not needed. Military is not needed. All that is needed is for the US and Europe countries to stop buying Russian oil and natural gas. The puny sanctions aren't stopping anything. Stopping buying energy would totally collapse their economy.

Yes, this would help some but a very small part of the big picture. From what I am seeing less than 3% for the USA. They are begging for a "No Fly Zone" which would help some but the real carnage is being created by artillery and ground missile fire. ------------------Ray

Update: Just saw a congressman on the TV and he claimed we buy 8% of our oil from Russia. Beginning to wonder if anyone knows how much we buy from Russia.

Randy, I would be willing to personally go but I don't think I could come up with enough firepower in my Garand with its en bloc clip. To make matters worse, my new NY State Drivers License says Veteran but it won't get me on a plane. And then there is the matter of a Passport. And then there is this little problem, I never got the damn vaccine shots or the booster.----------------------------Ray

I just read where Trump said we should paint Chinese Insignia on all of our war planes and bomb the crap out of Russia. 😂

    He really is a genius!!

I am sure Sleepy Joe's chaotic exit from Kabul was a big factor on Putin's timing of the invasion of Ukraine. In his demented mind he probably sees the USA as a Paper Tiger.

We could use those weapons of war now to help the Ukrainians one would think. By the time they get pilots in the cockpits of those Migs from Poland the carnage will be ten times worse.

Hard to believe but I have seen some reports and video of our prior service guys flying into Poland to fight side by side with Ukrainian Army. I guess we will have a few boots on the ground. Hard to turn your back on a country that has such a thirst for FREEDOM.--------Ray

In a straight up conventional war with Russia, the U.S. would kick their butts in 6 weeks.
