Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons are amazing.

Don't know if you've heard, they had to close the entire park after your visit. Major flooding.
A tourist from back east left the water on to the sink in their hotel room.
Oh yeah, thankfully we were like one or two days out of YNP when all hell broke loose. I read today that they are planning to reopen the South Loop on the 22nd
When I take extended vacations that is the direction I head but stop at the California border will probably have to include the Washington and Oregon border as stopping points now
Yep… hey we made it over to S Dakota and did the Badlands too …
my one exception to California is San Diego. We truly enjoyed San Diego
I lived in San Diego many years ago for awhile about 2 blocks from the zoo spent quite a bit of time there
Best Zoo ever. We literally spent about nine hours there on our first visit
You're welcome. It pleases me that people enjoy Rocky's Mountains.
Yellowstone is just fantastic. Everybody ought to spend a few days touring this park. It is a national treasure.
Glad you had a good time, Austin, but those of us that live here would appreciste it if you told everyone thst it was absolutely terrible.
Rocky's mountains are full!
It is OK in the West. Some of us actually live here.
My late wife "Sunshine" was a Kentucky gal. When we lived in the Texas Panhandle for a couple of years I told here we needed to go to Taos, New Mexico so she could see the artists galleries there and see the Rocky Mountains.
She was doubtful-- "I've seen mountains!" I just shook my head an told her she'd seen foothills, not mountains.
Two days later she agreed. Rockies were much more impressive that the eastern version.
We had planned on visiting the National Parks in the west but cancer and covid ganged up on her so I'll be making the trip alone.
Did you make the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody?

We're going in August. Staying in Saratoga.
The Canadian Rockies in BC are if anything even more ruggedly awesome.
Sadly we did not.
I hear ya. If I lived out there I would not want anyone coming in and spoiling it.
I lived in San Diego for over 50 years. Kalif got to Commie for me, and we moved to Idaho.
I prefer to explore the backcountry of Idaho on my ATV and will never return to Commie Kalif.

Yes they are. I have a pic of the grand Tetons from the Idaho side (Ansel Adams) hanging in my office. Frankly, the views and landscape only get better as you continue west into Idaho and Montana or north into Canada. YNP is just the teaser IMO.

Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain

My wife is from the western slope of Colorado, and we live upstate New York on the Vermont border. When the in laws came to visit, they kept saying they couldn't believe how green it was. When I went out their way I kept saying...I can't believe how brown everything was. Beautiful and brown...🙂
Here a cool one of Ansel Adams that is on one of the plaques along the Snake River
I took this Snake River pic on my New Year's trip to Jackson Hole. Windshield tour of the Tetons with a few stops. Close to where Ansel Adams took his pic in 1942.
Mine:
Mr. Adams:
The views were beautiful and the hiking was really great. I could sure tell the difference in altitude out there
That's a fantastic picture, Susie! Ya done ol' Ansel proud!
Thank you. I just pushed the button, God did all the work.
Yes, Beth's Tetons are rather Grand !
what ? what ? ... never mind
"Yes, Beth's Tetons are rather Grand !"
You devil. I know that word in French.
I agree, you did very well. And that is indeed the photo of his hanging in my office. I'd love to hang yours beside it!

@austin20 yours looks a lot steeper....with all those trees growing sideways...🤣
@austin20 a lille assistance for you.
It is truly a beautiful landscape.
Thank you Susie
A few of my shots of Grand Teton
There is no bad place there to stop and take pictures
We wanted to head down your way this year but the wife's surgery changed those plans

Susie please help. teach me how to post these pics right side up
That first picture has 4 or so of my ice fishing spots for the north end and west side of the lake.
Been a lot of 20-30# Lake trout drug through ice in this area.
Glad you enjoyed my stomping grounds.

@austin20 are you posting pics from your phone or computer?
If from your phone do a screenshot of the original pic. Then go to your gallery and pull up the screenshot. Crop the pic to what you want to post. Post the cropped screenshot.
Don't ask me how it works, I just know that it does.
I took a screenshot of your posted pic, rotated it to the correct alignment, cropped it to remove the extraneous parts, then posted the final product.
Thank you.
