A new experience at the Mall.......and likely the last time for me
I avoid the mall.....I avoid most stores and only go into one when necessary.. Well Sunday I had to go into a mall to find a few items of clothing for an upcoming class reunion. I rolled into a J C Penny to buy a pair of jeans. Brand to Brand, the waist size can be two inches different in pairs marked the same size, so I had to try them on....
I gathered up a few pair and set out looking for the men's fitting room....It was closed and a sign directed me to the shoe area. When I got there I discovered it is a Gender Neutral fitting area. I was pretty uncomfortable as after I arrived, there were 3 young ladies that came in to try on Homecoming dresses...so I did my business and as I walked out, I kept my eyes on the floor as the doors to each area was open at the top and bottom. I am fairly tall so it would be easy to see over the top of the door....Seems like they are asking for trouble..
I can see why malls are dying and this experience will cause me to shop elsewhere from now on....
Crazy World, getting crazier...........

Good thing that you didnt complain. They would have banned you for life, called you a bigot, and call the law in you.
This country is now run by the devil, no morals left!
FJB
At least it was open. The changing rooms were all closed during the Plandemic and if it didnt fit you couldnt bring it back.
Nothing phases me any more.
We run a concession stand at events and I have had every type of person come over to buy things. We have had mothers nursing their babies.
Most of the young girls today are showing off so much skin they would have been arrested when I was growing up.
I think it was three years ago, I had a couple come in my office to do an income tax return. They had their infant child with them and during the interview process, she whipped it out and started nursing the baby without it being covered up. I know my face had to have turned red and I just made dang sure I looked at the husband when I was asking questions or getting a response.
I haven't been in a fitting room since I was a kid. My wife buys what I wear and tells me when to wear it.
my wife just made me throw away two pair of jeans, and a 3 piece suit, I had in high school, though they were getting a tad tight.........
I wish I had a good alternative I could recommend but all the shops seem to be just like this these days.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I figured that was likely...just the first time I have run across it. I have seen unisex ones but one person at a time...this was the first time I was in one with 10 changing areas all in one big room.....
Hotdiggety William, where is this place? I think I need to try something on.
Nursing in public...no big deal.
Gender neutral fitting rooms...could be a big deal.
Since a portion of our population seems to be totally confused about their gender, I would be very careful in there. You just might see something that will later cause you to wake up screaming in the night! Bob
1st congrats on the reunion how many years ..
I never went to any of mine never really miss any of them and we had a huge class for such a small town the big pandemic knocked out my last one , I was wanting to go 😕 to just to see who all had bought the farm or lost all that charm , the nice looking and waht they look like now ,, well the normal BS in high school LOL .. so I hope to hang around to my next possible one in 2025 that would be 50 years
I never thought much on the jeans I have always worn the same brands early on for years it was Levi's but there so leftist anti gun woke no way no how so wrangler is another with a few outh brands along the way
I watched a fellow on you tube who test every thing tools undecoating oil any suggestions seems he will go at it any way I seen he did one on jenes a couple weeks back and your right he measured every one that were suppose to be 34 waste and only two brands measured 34 the rest were two to three inches more than the 34 labeled as around the waste
he did a bunch ot torture test also on them
as far as the fitting rooms its just another sad day in America same with no gender rest rooms or showers' in another 30 or 40 years I can not , actually I do not want to imagine what it will be like .
"Three young ladies trying on Homecoming dresses..."
That sounds like my kind of dressing room. What's the problem?
You married young it appears.
That is why I am a single man......
I have shirts that are more than 20 years old.........I am 53.........those shirts still work for dirty jobs and then will be cut up for rags.
On a lighter note.............my ex and I did some things in a changing room back in the early 2000's that would porbably get us arrested today..............or maybe not.
It was totally taboo back when.
I get my Carhartt Jeans from an Orsheln's Farm Store in Mountain Home, AR or a Bass Pro in Branson / Springfield.
That explains a lot.
45th reunion.....Football game Friday evening...my great nephew plays halfback and my HS football coach is being honored at halftime. Meal and get together on Saturday evening. My old track coach is the speaker at the meal. 126 of us graduated together in 1977, to my knowledge 16 of us had already passed on at the 40th... Looking forward to seeing some old friends, coaches and teammates...
hope you have a great time . and congrats on your great nephew .
I was just ahead of you by a couple yrs 1975 when I graduated HS .
I hate to admit it but I’ve been buying my clothes on-line. Pants & Jeans on Amazon, not only are they less expensive but they have the size I need. Different manufacturers still have different tape measures ie 36” Levi is different from 36” Lee, and 36” Wranglers are different yet … but if they don’t fit, return them for free.
Shirts are what I have the most problems with … especially t-shirts & polo’s … I’ve bought a few from L.L. Bean, but a walk-in store is only in major metro areas.
For instance, if I go to JC Pennys, Kohls, Target etc, a large will fit me in the chest but it’s long enough for someone 6’ 2” … unfortunately I’m only 5’6” and it hangs down below my crotch … a medium isn’t much better in length, but it’s so tight in the chest that it looks like it’s painted on me. So I’ve found a couple on-line companies that make “shorter” shirts like from Ash & Erie … they usually aren’t cheap but they fit, and so far they wear well.
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
