Nope, I sent him an email through the forums notifying him that Mark C. passed away, as they were friends/acquaintances. Never got a response. Seemed like a great fella with a lot of firearms knowledge.
He is OK. Just has other hangouts. Don
Glad to hear he's ok.
To the dismay of some, still alive, kinda.
HPD, thanks for the heads up on Mark. I don't get GB notifications anymore, and logging in here is a pita.
Mike, the forum is back up this morning. z1r bought the domain from Lonnie, but can't even access it himself since Lonnie ghosted. Working with McCabe to get a techie on it to fix all the hiccups, but that won't happen fora week or two.
I've had my hands full since I was last on here. Since Jan 2020 I've had Covid 5 times! Never any worse than a head cold, but this last one was Ba5, and lasted 4 weeks. Got that June 30th, and I'm still feeling it, zero energy level. Got that 6/30, and 4 days later lost my Dad on 7/3.
The estate is split three ways with myself and two sisters, $5-6 million total. Older sister was administer of his finances, and I've yet to see the books. The Idaho ranch was value at $2.6M 10yrs ago, and just appraised at $910K. Stacks of that paperwork, along with stacks from a continual battle with SSI, Medicare, and the medical provider. I could rant on that for pages!
Both Dad and myself have been unable to get up there to check things out, trusting the cousin that leases it. Caught him off guard when the whole family showed up to bury Mom and Dad's ashes. He thought with Dad passing, he could pick it up cheap by running it down. Found he stole our tractor and had it on his place, and they've been poaching deer on our ranch. Almost everyone of our Powder River steel gates has been smashed from his tractor, over $10K worth of new gates. That was just a small part of it. We had a come to Jesus meeting, told him I would be back in June, and he had that long to correct what he's done, or he'd be meeting Jesus! I can let the whole thing go fallow, and make it a family hunting camp, taxes are less than $600 a year.
About the only good news I have, my son just graduated Fresno State on the Dean's List, while working as the Assistant Manager of Pacific Agronomics, and a certified crop advisor for the western States and parts of Canada. One launched, one to go, ...some day...maybe.
I haven't pulled a trigger in 3 YEARS! Been doing some gunsmithing on some guns for others, and actually dusted off a few projects of my own to get finished. Decided to start rust bluing again after 2 or 3 decades, and just about ready to get that going.
Make plans, and life happens.
Good to hear from you Trap. Heal completely, soon. Best to you.
Sounds like a good run of bad luck, glad to hear you are feeling better and hope things go well with the family.
Good to hear from you, trap. Estates can be a messy mess. Congratulations to your son.
If you want to hear God laugh, make plans.
I'm also glad you are still with us on the green side of the grass, they say bad things come in 3's so you've had your share. take care
