Stopped my on-line campaign contributions
I have always contributed funds to candidates and propositions I support, but thanks to my parties abuse of sharing my email address I have to stop donating on-line. I’m just fed up with getting emails from every one of my party’s candidates that I’m not interested in, with their hands out, telling me that this election is the most important in my life. I follow politics / government pretty closely and yes I have contributed to candidates running for office in other states because in the grand scheme of things I also want other states to be well managed. If I wanted to contribute to these other candidates; I would have reached out to them.
These fund raisers (state and national) need to use the analytics they receive and recognize that for every Unsubscribe Me they receive the overall dollar amount of contributions go down. They really are shooting themselves in the foot.
With the cost of a stamp, I now mail them a check - not my phone number or email address.

Closing the barn door after the cows are already out ain't gonna help much, but I get it.
I would like to stop contributing to this corrupt administration. Never liked jail.
I've been working on my 'contribution' (some call it a tax return) and it's disgusting to think I'm supporting such effluent.
Alternatively, you could set up and use a junk email account you don't bother to monitor. I thought most folks did that.

I just wish most of these politicians would use THEIR own money to finance their campaigns! Seems they keep getting richer and richer in so, so, many ways!
Also IMHO, there are a whole lot more places where donated money is needed in THIS COUNTRY!
I agree, that's what Gmail is user for 😉. I have also found myself not trusting them (the ACH) with my credit card info. Just one more place to send me an "Oops, we got hacked and your stuff was stolen" email, after the fact. I send them a check and I see it get cashed in my statement.

The absolute worse thing one can do is make donations or any charitable giving!
Despite promises of confidentiality, your information will be passed or sold to every group, organization, individual, both legit and not legit for more donations. Learned you cant trust NOBODY.
What follows will be a barrage of unsolicited emails, phone calls, texts, and regular mail and it will go on for years.
I don't know about that I have automatic donations going the Shriner's Hospital and St. Jude children's research hospital and they have never once sold or mishandled my information. But the RNC is the worst I have ever deal with - so much so that I will no longer work with them on-line.

I chased the rabbit and found out a list of known charitable givers with their contact information was worth far more than all the donations a charitable org received. There may be a few exceptions but when I give, its cash and anonymous.
And yet I have been donating to both the Children's hospitals, monthly for over 36 years and not once have they abused my information - Personnel or Credit Card. In fact it wasn't until my campaign contributions to President Trump that I started getting emails and phone calls from every Republican candidate out there. And "yes" I have been making political contributions since Reagan was the Governor of California.

Yup. I contributed to one candidate in my state. Soon I was getting begging emails from everywhere. I even got some from the other party. I suspect how it works is an organization is in the business of getting contributions for a candidate. That organization gets a percentage off the top, say 10%. Now they have your email information so they go at it for more candidates getting another 10% each time you kick in.
If I told you what I know about Shriners and how they treat their employees you would never give them another dime.

I have never contributed to a candidate online and I never will. I get enough garbage in the mail, why would I want it in my email as well. And besides, far too many of them seem to be unqualified to hold any public office and they barely work (the term work used extremely loosely) 6 months out of the year.
