Prayers for Willie Jr. ----------Update
Was sitting at kitchen table yesterday at noon and did not realize Willie Jr. was under it. Dropped one 200mg ibuprofen tablet on floor and Willie Jr. grabbed it in a flash. I chased him about six feet into TV room and he crushed it and swallowed the whole thing. Did not realize they are very dangerous for dogs, especially small ones.
Talked to my daughter late last night and she insisted that i take him to Vet hospital this AM which I did. She studied animal husbandry in college and she really knows her horses. She called Poison Control Center and got a case number. Vet hospital will not take him without that Number which cost $85.
I slept on floor next to Willie Jr's cage last night. Actually I did not sleep at all. No rest and not eating right. He does not really have bad symptoms now but you have to do the blood work and go from there. Almost $1,000 as a out patient and over $2,700 if they keep him for three days. He is taking a powder, a liquid with syringe and Prilosec OTC. I can hardly keep track of my own meds and now this. I have to make two more trips to Vet Hospital.
Please if you are so inclined, pray for my little Willie Jr. --------------------------Ray

You got it, Ray. Prayers for willie JR.
You've got it.
Hope for the best ,,,,,
Might want to buy some activated charcoal to keep on hand. Mixed with a harmless liquid to a semi viscous state and spooned/squirted into animal’s mouth will bind with many toxins to prohibit absorption into the system.
prayers from us for the best out come for willie
Oh no. Prayers sent.

This is good advice. Never knew Ibuprofen could be so harmful to the little guy. -----------Ray
Prayers for both you and Willie Jr. I've also had a few close calls dropping Px pills on the floor with my 2 always at my feet K-9's around! Last time it happened, I made a mad lunge for the pill and banged my head on the table nearby. Hit it so hard that I saw "Cartoon Stars" dancing around my head!! The loud Wack I made sent both of the dogs off scurrying away in fright. I was able to recover the pill a few seconds later.
I now take my meds when the dogs are outside.
Prayers for you both.
Hoping willie will be ok.
What state do you live in where they have such a stupid law?
Wow! No pills for my Willie
From what I read you done the right thing, and as forgemonkey has said, have some activated charcoal on hand as a precautionary measure just in case it would ever happen again in the future. I never new myself ibuprofen was so toxic to cats and dogs.
I have asked the lord to watch over Willie and that he will be alright, and you as well, account of I know you worrying over this.
Update---------Had a hard time getting medicine in Willie Jr. last night. There was a powder and a liquid with a syringe. Was hopeless so went and got some Little Cezar Gourmet food and mashed med up in it. He wolfed it down. He was doing ok this AM but threw up and only could keep about half his meds down. Had appt for today and tomorrow. He threw up again on way to Vet Hospital. They did bloodwork again and gave fluids. His blood work numbers are much worse. They called Poison Control and they are very concerned.
Decision was made to admit Willie Jr. so they can monitor him and he is on IV. I wished I could report better news. Once again my heart is broken. Thank you all for your prayers. I am sorry I just can't post anymore. I will try to keep you posted.----------------------Ray
