Is it true that Paypal will not handle transactions involving firearms? Thanks

They can freeze your account, ALL OF IT and take their sweet time "investigating" the matter.
Paypal/fleabay is anti-gun. Trying to circumvent that fact can only lead to some future heartburn.
Why on Gods green earth you would allow that possible disaster to happen when there are better ways to pay seems like a waste of time to me.
He told me that paypal cancelled his account with them because he sold some "AMMO" using paypal. Paypal is not only anti-gun, but also anti-ammo.
It's true. I don't know how much anti-gun Paypal actually is but I know the big driver behind it which no one will address is the INSURANCE COMPANIES! In order to operate, fleabay, who used to have firearm sales by the way, must carry some kind of liability insurance. Same with paypal. They don't want to pay higher premiums and they don't want to get sued and possibly lose their lower rate for conductin firearms sales. I don't have access to the books but I'm betting that GG here or over at AA they pay, just like a Firearms store, about 3 times the premium of a regular retail store. Picture that by the volume that fleabay and paypal do.
In the past, I have used paypal for "grey area" purchases. What I do is use a $500.00 limit card and if the price is over that then I pay the card up to that amount. I never use the description 'firearm'. If you think they will track you, code your auction number to your seller or buyer. I don't think it is theirs, or the insurance companies business, how I spend my money. I am within the law as far as the BATF is concerned.
To give an example of how the insurance companies operate. We here in Minnesota passed a concealed and carry law. A few anti-gun stores wanted to know how they could block it. The law stated you had to post it outside your store in a certain size sign. Most stores didn't care, But pretty soon you saw these signs in almost every window. I asked the proprietor of that business why because I knew he was a shooter. He flat out told me his insurance company was going to triple his rate if he didn't. My wife who used to work for a certain insurance company based out of Central wisconsin(their logo is standing holding a rifle) asked one of her former co-workers if they were doing it and they said yes they were. Rates went higher if you didn't post a sign saying no weapons in your store. So, Paypal and Fleabay may be anti-gun but I assure you there is a bigger driver behind it.
EDIT:
Another interesting item of note, I went get a cashiers check to pay for an auction and the bank had to check the name to make sure that individual wasn't a terrorist.

Quote for the day: When Bob Hope was asked the question,"Do seniors have an active sex life?", he replied, "Absolutely! As a matter of fact, I like the one in the SPRING the best."
I won't disagree with you about how anti-gun paypal and fleabay are. I was not aware of who they support politically who is anti-gun. If you have information to that effect please post it. It would be good information to share.
What I do say and I know this to be fact is that insurance companies are upping the cost of having guns around. I will make the statement that I am sure that to some extent they drive some companies away from doing business in the firearms trade.
