If I sell and ship a gun in my home state does it still have to be sent to a FFL Dealer, or is that just required for interstate sales.
Thanks
Mike

California = yes, even a face-to-face has to go through a FFL.
Michigan = no on a long gun, but on a handgun the buyer needs a "permit to purchase" from his local "cop shop", so it is easier to go via a FFL IF it must be shipped but is not required on a FTF purchase.
Thanks

Let him go through a dealer & pass the NICS; you will be able to sleep well at night.

As for getting a copy of the DL that is a good idea, as is having a bill of sale that both parties sign.
As for the individual in question that may buy mike's gun, he is definately not a felon, or a drug user, or mentally ill. He served 10 years in the USN and has one of the highest levels of integrity that I have ever seen.

The buyer must be a legal resident of Georgia; it's not enough for him to just be living there. If you follow Handgun's advice, you should be fine.
