I have recently fallen into a good deal but I'm not sure just how good it may be. I have the chance to purchase a Winchester Model 12 in 20ga for $50. Mechanically it's in great condition but it needs some TLC. The barrel's exterior is down to bare metal in places but the bore appears to be is good condition. According to the serial number it was manufactured in 1940. Any ideas what it may be worth?

Why the partial serial number? I really do not like it when people ignorantly do that[V]
Nickel Steel barrels began to be phased out in late 1931, and replaced with Proof Steel in 1932.
just what i have read, these were my uncle's, he had 2 of them, the wrist area seems smaller and longer than the other newer model 12 20ga he had, will try to put a pic of stock up, thanks
