All Cops Should Quit

All police officers in this country should quit their jobs in protest. On the news is yet another video of a black man, leading police on a high speed chase, trying to ram them off the road, then he flees on foot, violently resists arrest and the police officers use force to restrain him. Guess what ? POLICE BRUTALITY !!! The officers have been suspended pending an investigation. If I was a cop I wouldnt work under those conditions. I mean, everyday you go to work to and people are trying to kill you and you are just trying to protect innnocent people from these scum bags. So how does society show its apprecitation when you have to fight for your life ? They fire you, brand you a racist and a thug. Society needs to wake up and give police officers more leeway.

I know in many cases, they even should act more strongly, but with the rash of "Brutality" as of late, no wonder people are questioning their actions..
Did you see the video? Cops like that give other cops the bad name. Three cops on top of the guy, already on the ground. They procede to kick and punch the guy. Numerous times. Then, just for good measure it seems, a fourth comes over and REPEATEDLY stomps on the guys ankle. Completely uncalled for. I will agree with you on the fact it is not a racial thing, though.
do you release that those three cops had to go to the hospital?
Perhaps there are just to many video cams out there.[;)]
DO NOT RUN!!!!!
If you have done nothing wrong, dont run. How many innocent lives did the scumbag endanger on his little juant in his vehicle.
That Airfore MP story is not the first time I have heard of people being shot by cops for pulling out their ID.
Perhaps cops are too trigger happy, perhaps too many criminals have gun that make the cops trigger happy, just don't reach for anything when confronted by a cop, especially when its a volatile situation like a car chase, especiall when the cop has a gun already drawn.
The other one I heard about a while back was some guy (might have been black I forget) locked his keys in his house, and was trying to break in the front door. A cop comes by, sees the guy, shouts at him or something, the guy turns around and proceeds to pull out his wallet(presumably to show who he is and that he lives there, drivers licences do have your address on them). He gets shot and killed by the cop.
Might be an over reaction on the cop. Ive seen comments online at other sites from british people implying the cops here are trigger happy because of americas gun culture and because every yokel has a gun. In reality there are only what, 60 million(legal?) guns for 250 million people, with the majority of gun owners owning more than one gun and being in rural areas. Most people in urban/Sub-urban america are not armed, but the criminals still are.
But if it looks like you are attempting to break into a home(especially late at night), and a cop stops you, do not turn around and reach into your coat for something, you may very likely get shot.
This might be better.

What I saw on the video appears to be police brutality.
If not, then at least its police stupidity.
Cops need to realize that video cameras and phones with video/photos are everywhere. Not to mention news helos buzzing above.
I've been in "survival mode" a couple of
times but I think they would have
survived without kicking the hell out of him!

Police officers are trained professionals. There is no excuse for what they did. They are trained to control their emotions and adrenaline. If they can't, they need to find another line of work.

I guess you had to be there to appreciate what really went on.

I'm not saying that the bad guys don't deserve a little "attitude adjustment" every now and then.
It's just just there's a time and place for everything. The heat of the moment isn't a good one.......[;)]
Oh....and for all of you that are anti-cop / LE.....this is where you chime in and start flaming me.....[:D]
Have you ever heard of a cop intentionally slamming his brakes so the perp's face smashes against the security screen. If I was a cop, I think that would be a fun part of the job.
Ben
I can say that, cause like most all cops, I've been "there and done that", at least once. [;)]
Are you still telling those hokey "I'm a cop" stories?
store or bank, or just ran a stop sign. Video doesn't show anything
but what the news media wants you to see. What would you do if some
scumbag did something to your family or loved one. Justification
would come easy to want to beat the crap out of the perp.
Just about a week ago, a mental case was tazed and died from it.
The third in our department since the tazer gun was issued. Now
everyone screaming to stop using them. O K let's just call John Q
public out and let them try to talk to some criminal or nut to
give up peacefully. Since trying to talk to the guy failed and he
got violent. So instead of beating him or shooting him they tazed
him and unfortunatly he died. O H well, it was his choice.
That used to be SOP, unwritten, but universal. If you had to chase someone, either on foot or in a car, at the end of the chase, you "broke him from the habit." [;)]
Can't do that anymore. [:(]
I didn't see the video, but I can tell you that punching someone who is face down is not unusual. He is not complying with commands, and we want those hands out from under and behind his back. I have seen men who were too strong for me to force his hands out from under, so pain compliance was necessary.
It works like this: You tell him what you want him to do, then if he refuses, you do something unpleasant but non-injurious until he does comply.
Nunn, I love ya man!
I'm not saying it was right, that's just the way things were done.
Looking at the video, two of the officers were trying to cuff the guy. The other two? I don't know what they were doing other than kicking the suspect. Why were they kicking him? I don't know the answer to that, but they better have one.
I think the first question to be asked is.... Does a van with an incorrect liscense plate justify a drawn out high speed chase? After a couple miles of it being clear the van wasn't going to stop, I would say no. The public safety should outway "pulling" over a van with an incorrect liscense plate period. My two cents...
....and if that van had bad plates to hide the fact they just abducted your daughter to use as a porno slave would you feel the same????
Do NOT run from the cops
DO not RUN from the cops.
Do not run FROM the cops
Do not run from the COPS.
Using your analogy, why would anyone stop? If you know that if you run that they arent going to follow you, why stop?
Dont make sense to me.
If a cop wants to pull you over, STOP. If you dont stop, then pay the consequences.
The guy was FIGHTING the whole time. The cops were doing their best to get his hands out from under him, they could not. They then begin to inflict a little "incentive" as in stop bleening resisting,on him, still was fighting them. There were about FIVE LEO"s pulling, hitting him trying to get his hands.
...The LEO that the news keeps saying stopped, and walked away when he saw the news chopper, is bull poop. What happened was that this particular cop tried grabbing the jerks left leg to hold, and got the poop kicked out of him for his efforts. Now this had been going on now for about 4 min or so, a long time in that situation. After the cop was kicked, he stepped away several feet,to get out of kicking reach of this slime, and happened to look up at the chopper. He did not just look up and say "oh gee, I am being abusive, and its on tape, think I'll step away".
...Said officer then went back into the melee, that was STILL taking place because the scumbag was still fighting! This cop went up and planted a well placed "stomp: on the guys lower calf,...but he was STILL fighting them, said cop then stepped back.
...I saw nothing but LEO's trying to subdue a creep that had intentionly ran into a patrol car, then sped off, a high speed chase
endangering civies and law enforcement alike. When they finally boxed him in, he rammed another patrol car, then got out an ran when nothing left to do...putting their lives at risk, while trying to protect YOU and ME from the POS...PITHY?...nope...[^]
I'll make it simple for everyone
DO NOT RUN!!!!!
If you have done nothing wrong, dont run. How many innocent lives did the scumbag endanger on his little juant in his vehicle.
PERFECTY STATED
I believe the philosophy here is that once the police have a perp under control, they have no business executing vengence or violence against that person. I agree that violence is appropriate in order to save lives and/or for self defense, but the police are held to a higher standard than you or I, and MUST BE SO, because they enforce the law.
The moment the police (READ: Government) starts taking violent dispositions with the members of society (I know, the guy was a scumbag), they lose credability and thus contribute to social unrest.

...I really could give a flying bleen what that segment of society thinks...[:(!], those that feel that way are motherbleeners too. amd they can all bite me...[:(!]

So, outlaw video cams? I personally hope there is one rolling the next time I disagree with a LEO. They ain't always right but 90% of the time they are hiding behind a badge.
