Patton's famous sidearm is on display at the Patton Museum, Fort Knox, KY.. You can look but not touch. Great place to visit. Weaponry from all era's on display, including lots of lawn ornaments. Old tanks from many sources that you can get up close and personal with..

There are other more useful guns, more beautiful, better calibers, even better built, I'm sure, but as a collector of weapons, with most of mine being of the military version, if not used for hunting, I feel it has its place in my collection, and a good representation of the AR-15 series rifles that we have used in the U.S. Military for all these years.

$3,250 by the book in 95%. I know there's more valuble guns out there, but not to me.
My second choice would be one of the completely silent and flashless OSS .22 weapons. "Wild Bill" Donovan brought the prototype into the Oval Office and emptied it into a sandbag while FDR was on the phone. Neither the President or the Secret Service noticed. Roughly a dozen were 'lost' in Europe during the war, and of those, some ended up in the hands of the Haganah, who used them to 'encourage' the British to abandon Palestine.
Last choice, one of the German bent barrel rifles with mirror sights developed for shooting around corners in combat in the streets of Russian cities. I think it used the 7.92x57, but may have been chambered in the 7.92x33 Kurz.
You sure I can't have three wishes?????
his death wish movies. Or a rifle like Chuck Conners used in
the rifleman. Now if I could just shoot it like He did. Heh!
If anyone is in the KA/OK area and would like to, I'd pay for the ammo and some for your time to go out and shoot a class 3 gun (suppressed or full-auto) or .50 BMG with you...
Fep1990, you can buy the "Quigley Sharps" replica from Cabelas for about $1,400.
