Very sorry to hear of your situation. I have been in charge of my Father's estate and even in the best of circumstances it is a difficult process settling an estate. Consult an Atty.....Prayers for your situation.
Sorry for your loss. This post does put things in perspective tho', One of the greastest joys in life ,for me, was my relationship with my folks. I saw my Dad everyday for the last 30 years He lived on the 40 acres due north. My mom ,96, still lives there, I bring her the paper each nite. Another great joy is my sister. We would do anything for each other Family is worth more than all the gold in the world.
horrible. sorry to hear it, I love my Dad more than I ever have in my life. I'm lucky that he spends most of 6 mos a year with me and my family.
But...You will bear witness to the most horrible, loathsome characteristics of human behavior once someone has passed. No amount of whining, groveling, theft, misrepresentation of facts, false reports to the police and general mischief should surprise you.
I am sorry about you losing your father. Your brother is a money hungry bastagin like my sister was. The estate will have to go thru probate now without a will.
That is an insult alright. My prayer is for you to move through this process in the best possible manner that you can muster, be treated fairly, and in the final analysis have no regrets regarding your conduct. Good luck to you, Scott.

Or bail, and remember what you can.
