I am wondering if anyone has hsad a problem like this and what it was.
I was diagnosed with carpel tunell Syndrome, tested both hands throught some kind of elecetrical shock in different places of my arms; had an endoscopy surgery on left hand Oct 2011
No pain, but since December have been gradually loosing strength in hand & wrist (left hand I was not going to let him operate on right till saw Improvement in Left hand.
Now over the last 3 months my right hand has swollen and cant close it completly Left hand also not as bad . stiff hands in morning and gradually subsides a little during day but it hurts to pick anyhing up and cant feel a coin in my pocket.. 2 orthopedic surgeons looked at me this past wweek, one was the one who operated and said the swelling was not from carpel Tunnel the other said the same but they wanted to schedule me for surgery.. MY G P set me with an appointment with arthiritis
specialisat.. Has anyone an Idea, I have been checked for Gout and tests show no[?][xx(]

I also have arthritis in my hands but didn't notice any difference in that after the surgery. I have other nerve problems in my hands relating to a malformed vertebrae so the CT release surgery didn't solve the whole problem. It did result in some improvement especially in allowing me to sleep better.
If this was happening to me, I'd chalk it up to Arthur. Did you take antiinflammatories and did that help?
Was told 15 years ago it required surgery to fix......
If your Docs go for it why not try a couple of weeks of steroids, Cortisone or some of the newer (safer) stuff.
I've got simple Arthritis in my hands, my joints are just worn down from work. A DMSO salve seems to help me. Some people DMSO helps, others nothing. Not likely to hurt much (few side affects), check with your Doc. The only side affect I've ever had from DMSO is a bad taste in my mouth.
Pretty much the same way I troubleshoot machinery, start with the simple stuff, give that a try and then progress on to the more radical solutions.
Germans are big on salves and ointments, much more so than U.S. Doctors.
1. Yes I have tried Ibuprofin and alieve9 It works a little if I put booze with it then I can go 4 hours sleeping.
2. Yes it feels like my hand is on fire or something like that or needles sticking in different places in my hand.
3. Did you loose strength in your hand after CT surgery?
Did you have therapy at all after the surgery?....I found the wax treatment was most helpful but again this was 30 years ago...warm wax, hand dipped in approx 10 times....keep wax on for about 1/2 hr or longer, then when taken off, could do whatever therapist wanted...without that wax treatment, hand was stiff and sore...
Check the the site...says swelling feeling is common in carpal tunnel....

Hope your liver is up to the task. You sure don't want to add to your troubles.
Steroids don't cure anything, they just suppress your immune system. I'd follow the Doctors orders and avoid self medicating.
problem is, can't use 'em long term, in most cases, w/o risking serious side effects.
