Man, that tomato plant sounds interesting...are they ready to pick yet?...yep a pic would be a good idea
No they are still all green some are near baseball sized, but their growing in clumps of 4-6. The cage their in is starting to give way. I stuck one dowel rod in for some support but now their at my neighbors fence.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Jeez Curt that last pic looks like a mug shot...nice likin maters thou
I started them a little bit late, sometime after Memorial Day. Around here most people don't put anything in the ground until after that weekend. Hell you can still get frost on them. Probably the same up by you.
Those are beautiful tomatos you have growing there.
I'll probably have to freeze some of them into sauce as I'm the only one who eats them here. Maybe a tomato giveaway.[;)]
That does look pretty, great contrast.[;)]

Fried green tomatoes are great also.
Looks like you've got some onions growing in there too.
Yep I have two of the Walla Walla yellow onion variety. Says they come to full term in 112 days. Only thing is I forgot what day I planted them. So if I go by the theory I planted them about the first week in June they've got about 60 or so more days to go.
Those pictures really dressed up this page as I scroll through them. Great job.
The funny or odd thing is they get only about 4 hours of direct sun light a day. Don't have to water them much as we've been getting rain almost every other day. The only thing we planted that didn't really take was the dill.

I agree, one of these days I'm gonna figure out how to post pics on here...then I will really be dangerous[:D]

Didn't know that rookie mistake they were pretty close, so I'll try that next year. I have chives left of the cilantro and the dill was to the right. Hey but we made it to page 3. [:D][:D][:D][:D]
I know not the same but this was our first try. The kale we have is doing great as well.
My wife loves kale...we get it at the farmers market $1 a bunch..might have to plant some next year.
The one Kale plant we have is pretty big as well. I mentioned to her that I think its time to harvest. I have no clue as to how big it gets.
Curt wheres the joke...I sent ya an email thru your home account
It was sent about 10 minutes ago.[;)]
Holy ant pile batman...I'm gonna try that tomorrow...what do they use to kill each other...I might take a video of it..[:D]

You may as well post it in this thread now.

Never planted kale before so can't help you there.
I've got a tomato plant with at least 50 tomato's on it, now all they have to do is turn red.[;)][;)]
At least while your shoveling snow you'll have something to eat.

I pulled up 23 of my 25 plants this weekend. Mine were all done. I have processed 3 wheelbarrows full so far[:0] Try a product by the name of "mater magic" from the lowes or home depot. Also, if you are watering daily, stop!! you stress the plant a little and it will begin to ripen the fruit.
as far as Kale, you harvest the larger leaves and then allow them to continue growing, just like with collards. Kale, as well as other greens are usually better after a frost, as it makes them less bitter, although I grew them through the summer anyway. I pulled out my collards a month ago and replanted for fall crops. Kale, collards, brussle sprouts, spinach, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, etc.
