    Lowrider,
    That's a pretty crappy job you've got

My Grandfather built (designed) and ran the (way too big) waste water treatment plant in my hometown. The area is finally starting to take off so maybe there'll be a need for more than 10% of the facility in the future.

Hey Simonbs: If I had a dollar for everytime I've heard that line...

We just finished a 13 million dollar expansion of our wastewater plant and now we're designing a 4 million dollar pump station and force main. If the area keeps growing like it has been we'll never be done with these construction projects.

Wastewater is probably one of the most secure jobs in the world. As long as people keep eating, they'll keep crapping.

Old hickory--Talked with you once before. I'm still just down the road from you. Are any parts of your fields under water still? My son and I went past one the other day that had a couple of ducks in it. My son thought it was a funny sight, but it looked to me like the guy was going to lose a big part of the beans he had already planted.

I perfrom special process audits (Quality Assurance Audits) for the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) which is run by SAE. My field is Nondestructive Testing. Basically, I make sure companies that supply products and services to large defense and aerospace companies are complying with specifications. Close enough for government work, that is....

Hey coonass, speaking of the Atchafalaya, have you ever been to Old River Control? I have been wanting to see it for about 15 years now, but haven't had the chance yet. Who do you think will win -- The US Army Corps of Engineers or ol' Ma' Nature?

I work for the local county Probation Department and my title is Caseload Supervisor. I supervise the Adult and Juvenile Probation Officers that serve our county. I also am part of the group that determines which juveniles are taken into the court system and which ones are handled informally. I am on call 24/7 and when a police officer takes a minor into custody, I make the determination if the minor is detained, palced in an alternative living situation or released to parents.

I also provide Education groups to parents with Children in court ordered placement. I have 19 years on the job and enjoy it most of the time...

I'm a quality inspector in a screw machine shop.(waiting for the comments on that one)
Also, my family owns a restaraunt and catering business, I work part time in that as a prep cook and do some of the catering jobs during the busy season.
I have an iron in the fire for a small business soon to be started too. Hopefully it will give me the means to eventually leave New York state and live in a place with lower taxes and friendlier gun laws. Hopefully a few of you will be customers. Those of you who do cowboy action shooting or historical reenacting keep your ears open.(to be announced at a later date)
