If you were to give me one I would take it to my gun store and trade it for any 1911 style .45.
I don't care for any pistol that doesn't have an exposed hammer or a de-cocking lever, or most importantly a positive safety.
This old bat likes the old style all metal fire arms.
Absolutely untrue for many. I can completely fix (that is replace parts as necessary) a 1911 or Beretta 92.
HEY, Mr 1911 expert armorer, I'm willing to bet you can't change the manual safety on a M1911/1911A1 or clone (like your prized DE).
I'm also willing to bet you can't change the barrel bushing properly.
How about changing the barrel?
Here's a quiz question for ya: The guy that bought my old Kimber Gold Match shoots it in IDPA matches and has blown the rear sight off of it twice. What is the cause/what is he doing wrong?
How can you fix (ya know, change parts) something if you don't know the problem/root cause?
I won't say I'm a Glock "hater," but I just don't care for them, don't want one and don't plan to buy one, as shocking, ignorant and distasteful as that may be to some. I "grew up" with 1911s and they are still my preferred handgun of choice.
With that said, I have many different handguns, both revolvers and semi-autos. I like steel guns, but do own a H&K P30...hammer fired, SA/DA or SA cocked & locked. Very comfortable in my hand, accurate and 100% reliable thus far.
Glock lovers should be free to buy what they want, as should the rest of us.
Kind of difficult for me to understand how can the dislike or at times correct criticism of an inanimate object can be branded hate.
That being said I my self am a Beretta fan to the bone.
I once got among other things a Glock 27 on a trade and I own it for about two hours as I sold it to a friend because I felt like a heretic with that gun on my hands, everything about it just felt wrong and a lot had to do with it's appearance Ugly to the core, and I haven't paid any attention whatsoever to brand until I learned about the Zev rigs on this here thread, and do to the totally cool custom look I desired to have an open mind a give my self one for my birthday in march, I'm sure wife will approve. PS I never thought I would buy a gun that I have to make a conscious effort to stay away from the trigger.[;)]
We have to fight so we can run away.

I really wish there was an indoor range that rented out a bunch of different models from different manufacturers here in Spartanburg but if there is a range rental outfit here it is a well kept secret.
Don't know of anything in Hub City, but Sharpshooters in Greenville has many rentals (I think a few full-autos) & Allen Arms, also Greenville has rentals & many full-autos.

you can get the parts 20% cheaper at midway on sale
Good to know they have me on email list.
Thanks.

The more money you put into upgrades, the better they shoot.
That's my only gripe with GLOKES: they are ugly and don't shoot well.
Waaaaaaaah to the troll...
