(did I mention that in PA it's now 189 bucks for an expired lisence?)

Hands down, this has got to be one of the most entertaining threads I've ever read here on GB! I'm not sure I could have even believed it had I not seen it.

These kind of threads are why GB GDF is so addicting. You would go broke spending money to get this level of comedy at the clubs.[;)][:D]

If you thought that the officer was fake or you were not for sure, why did you pull over? He might have been fake? You submitted to his authority already! You knew he was a police officer (the lights, marked car, whichever reason that you pulled over) or you would not have submitted to his authority. Why didn't you just keep driving?
If you get arrested here, let me know, I will bring you some better food so you don't have to eat our slop all the time.
Sorry though, we are out of snuff.[:o)]
yea, but you better like salad cause yours is going to get tossed.... in jail for a speeding ticket???? [V][V][V]
Well, there may be something to this story. In the past, a local mayor was complaining to me about one of his new cops writing tickets out on the interstate when he wasn't certified to do so. Also, some times tickets were beat because the cops speedometers or radars weren't up to a certain level of standard. Also, in the Seattle paper a guy ran into a wall while drunk. The car behind him was driven by an attorney who got our of his car and gave the drunk a drink of whiskey which prevented the cop from giving the driver a breathalyser test. The attorney was given a reprimand by the judge for using the law in somewhat of an improper manner but I'm sure the drunk appreciated the drink at the time. Also if drunk and you go into the ditch, who wouldn't take off and leave the car and answer the charge of leaving the scene of the accident rather than have to face a DUI??? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I hope ruger270man beats the system. If you can beat the same system that tried to convict you than more power to you. If this oath thing works out for you than great. The law is the law to be followed by all including Law enforcement. I hope you beat it.
you broke that law, and several others simultaneously.
your not man enough to admit that you were wrong and take your licks; so you decided to:
a)refuse to answer your citation
b)try to fight it on a bs technicality that, since it has been used before and doubtlessly caused embarrassment, has been rectified.
you came here hoping for support and got none, so you limped away with your tail between your legs.
yep. i guess im complacent in that i prefer to stay on the good side of the law. my license is current. i try not to speed. dont booze and cruise. when im taken to task for my errors, i stand up to them.
how didnt that officer show regard for the rule of law. you broke it, he cited you for it. how are we not showing regard for the law. you were cited for breaking a law that you dont deny breaking.
im not going to call you a huge tool, since that not allowed.

The cop asked me if I was a lawyer. And then he rightfully assumed I wasn't signing the ticket without a lawyer being provided and present, seeing as when I asked him if I was being detained, he said yes.
So the next day I sent a registered letter asking for the Oaths of Office of the district judge and the cop, in accordance with the Open Records Act, Sunshine Act, etc etc.. stated the law, the whole 9 yards.
I never sent the ticket in within the "10 day allotment". I have yet to receive copies of the oaths or a subpoena for the summary offense.
I couldn't care less about the summary offense. But theyre starting to pi$$ me off by ignoring my request for public records, and without their oaths, they are impersonating a judge and an officer.
What is my next course of action? Should I go to the county sheriff?
In Texas, if you refuse to sign the ticket, you get to see the judge the first thing in the morning, and you get to sleep with the drunks until he get's to work.
I sign the tickets. I've got a 50/50 chance if I do, I've got 0% if I refuse.
next time get the records for the officers radar/laser gun. depending on state law they have to have it calibrated every so often. i have been told they don't get them celebrated on time all the time so you stand a better chance that way. By the way i think the radar gun is the only one that can be calibrated not sure about the laser guns? someone correct me if I'm wrong here. Also it may be a dead end on your part to go this far but you never know.
Sorry, but your wrong Ruger. Your trying to make some case out of nothing. PLaying curbside lawyer. If you failed to appear and didn't pay the fine, then you have a warrent out for your arrest. What we call a FTA. The next time you get pulled over, they will most likely arrest you and tow your vehicle. Was it Really worth it?? I swear . Some of you guys pick the dumbest battles.

Ever heard the expression a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client? You are the poster boy.

I want to hear, as Paul Harvey says, "the rest of the story."

Stay by the phone. You might be that one call.
notice how he bailed on this thread after he realized he was the only one on his side....
No, I bailed when I realized that the average American is far too complacent and has as little regard for the rule of law as the average cop.

your 150 percent wrong... we ARE on his side, thats why we all were trying to get him to take care of it before he ended up in the pokey
At least the "average" American isn't stupid enough to pull what you are trying.
you were aware of the law.
