injunctions are being written as we speak,...this will be judged on it's constitutionality. NY isn't the ultimate authority on this,..and if I am right, the NRA will have congress involved. From what I am hearing through political channels, the congress doesn't have enough votes for an assault weapons (whatever that is) ban. I expect a run at magazine capacity and background checks no matter where the sale takes place. THAT may have a chance.

I expect the challenges to hold off NY's libtard law for a handful of years.

I expected the part about pistol permit renewal every five years. Now they are for life. They will charge a fee of about $100 or so and maybe a fee per handgun on the permit.

    Nards444 is misinformed

20-30 rounds are not currently a felony. Currently All preban high capacity magazines are legal,

Possessing a mag greater than 7 will be illegal in 1 year. You cannot have a 10 rounder loaded to 7 and be legal

Let me clarify anything after the pre ban is a felony.

I was not wrong, this was just down the street from me. If you live in NY and want to play the pre ban post ban thing go ahead.

I also stated the 10 rd magazine with 7 in there was a rumor that I heard and not truth yet, please read. Nothing is formal or signed yet anyways.

The way I see it.....let them HAVE that area....and the people that care about REALLY being free and having the liberties guaranteed by our constitution should move out of there. Come on to the other areas...when its all said and done they will get exactly what they deserve.

So much for "we're all in this together". Let's see you pack up and leave your grandkids and everything you've spent a lifetime working for when they come for YOUR guns!

Well Kasey, what do you say? Ready to abandon everything and head for the hills when they come to take your guns? When Obummer gets his nationwide gun ban passed what are you going to do, leave the country?

Colt, this thread could serve a better purpose back over in GD. Is there anyway it could be posted there for more to see. It is an important day........

They just announced on the news that this law passed.

Sounds like Semi Auto with detachable mag and one Feature instead of 2 is classification of assault weapon. 10 round mags are grandfathered (only loaded with 7 rounds), but going forward you can only purchase 7 rounders. A 5 year renewal on licenses, a gun registry of assault classified weapons and restrictions on possesing for mental or criminal issues.

I guess it will go to the Courts next.

    Remember this date [:(!]

that can be repealed when Fascism is routed from DC

if you read between the lines, there may be a silver lining in that NY law, because it states existing 20 round or higher mags, must be sold "out of state"

meaning they are anticipating there will be states that will NOT adopt the ban on large cap magazines

meaning they perhaps know, it doesn't have the votes in the federal Congress in DC

bad for NY, but good for many other states

They (the residents of NY) are the only ones whom can fix it. They forget that their representatives work for them, not the other way around. But they have to stand together and make them make the changes. A 7 round magazines makes no real sense, where they came up with that one.

Sadly, I believe the majority of NY residents want the law. They live in a liberal controlled news media and do not know any better.

Not quite, there skippy. The urban centers are the ones who begged for this liberal clap-trap, NOT the bread-and-butter normal upstate folks like Woodshed87, Spider7115, NYForester, 17tobyracing and other like-minded individuals. We just get out-voted by all the city scum that infest the lower regions of the state. God how I wish we could hack off the city, island, and a few attached counties that border that area. We would be SOOOOO better off.....

After the house votes on it today I sure hope someone here posts a list showing how each and every elected official voted.

We need this list so we know how to vote in the upcoming elections to oust them.

personally, at this point in my life, im voting out all incumbents. its really time for a clean sweep. i wish we could vote on more than a third of our representatives at a time...
AMEN... I've long supported the notion of specifically SHORT term limits...
Once they've served the term they were voted in for... They are automatically out for at least one full term.
Then they could be voted back in... And I doubt if they'd be voted in again if they screwed the public the first time.
    ABSOLUTELY NO CONCURRENTLY SERVED TERMS...

Yep... CLEAN SWEEP... And KEEP CLEANIN'... Every election.

Well, I guess it will take just one bullet and a good sniper--I mean hunting rifle to do a lot toward ending this madness.
