Going to explain that in a few words.

People like you, TR, would DEARLY LOVE somebody like me to do something stupid like that.

That way, you could point out to the REST of the people like you..90 % of the population..just how much I 'hated America..sorry sumbetch couldn't even be honest on his taxes'..after all.."I gotta pay My taxes"..

No..TR;..You are going to have to try some other form of discrediting me and my facts.
You see..I obey all the laws I can, today..speeding being one that is dicey..just SO people like you cannot use that as a club to FUTHER beat the Second Amendment about the head and shoulders.

No..I have no intention of sitting in prison and leaving the field to flawed, compliant people like you, TR...preaching your message of obedience to the Beast...rather then the Constitution.

When I go to war, TR;...It is going to be at a time where people like you have allowed your neighbors to be dragged away and shot..while you think seriously about informing the Beast about the guy on the OTHER side of the street with the guns.

You think that is ugly ? I am getting tired of your incessent promotion of gun control.

Yes Highball, it appears both of us are getting "tired" of something.

In red above. So you refuse to resist the "beast" who screws you each and every day in so many ways. Forcing you to pay way too much in taxes and then wasting those taxes is but one example. But you apparrently are "saving" yourself for the really, really big fight you are going to have with your government, the "beast". You and your other armchair commandos often brag that, in effect, you don't fear death when it is time to launch armed conflict against the "beast" but you do apparently fear going to jail if you chose to openly resist the "Beast" right now.

Excuse me while I take a nap and think about all this. Wake me when you and the other armchair commandos actually take some kind of action other than posting. Any kind of actual, physical action against the "beast" will get my attention. Please don't disturb me for anything less.

Hey, I thought I requested that nobody bother me from my nap unless they have some physical, real-world action to report.

I DO psyical and real world action. I actually prepare for, what you are unwilling to reconize.

While you uninvolve yourself, paying someone to care for YOUR problems, I actually DO something about it. See, you think paying membership dues and sending the occasional complaint letter to some politicians are your contributions to freedom. In reality, those that are REALLY concerned, do those things AND prepare.

You think the NRA is your BEST bet? Why don't you ask Dan Kelly how their save all organization didn't stop Austrailia's gun ban? That organization STILL exists, and IS as useless now as it was then. The NRA is the same, useless. Your only REAL save all is YOU getting busy preparing to take your stand. I find you a perplexing personality TR.

One minute you act like you want to have a friend or two, the next you act like you want to make war with the VERY people who will stand to protect YOUR rights. We don't even ask for your money, like some businesses do.

After having talked to you over all this time I have been a member TR, and knowing all you have let be known about you, the phrase "old fool" keeps flashing in my mind.

If you are really this way off the net, as you are on it, I think it would be impossible for the two of us to have a conversation without it turning violent.

Spinning big stories about the violent thilngs you plan on doing to your government (the beast, according to Highbail) but only when the time is perfect and right, does not show me much. Hell, small children can talk as big as some of the armchair revolutionaries that I have seen post on GB.com for years. Surely if you revoluntionaries are creative, bold and determined, you don't have to wait like a bunch of little girls to at least take a few punches at the "beast". Show me something. Because for way too long it has been a case of "too much talk and not enough action".

BTW, your stated position brings to my mind the term "young fool." And your reference to being anxious for violence towards me; well, that statement speaks for itself.

Greetings. I am new to this forum but I saw something in this thread from a senior member of this forum that I just had to respond to:

    jpwolf's signature says:

quote:If the people have become so apathetic that they will not vote out all the liberal scum (republican and democrat alike), the only solution is Constitutional Convention II the sequel. Let's get it right this time.

That is a very scary statement. It is reminiscent of of the gun control lobby's constant attempts to solve gun crime by passing a new gun control law.

If the government will not follow the current constitutional protections of the right to bear arms, you actually believe we should pass a new constitution and hope they will follow that one? Does passing a new gun ban ever prevent a criminal from owning a gun?

If they ever have a new constitutional convention, ownership of firearms will more likely be banned by the new constitution, not protected by it! It was done right the first time - well, at least with the addition of the bill of rights.

And since I piped in on this thread with my first post, at least let me make my second post on topic:

I am 52 years old. When I was a kid, the adults I knew who hunted all belonged to the NRA. They all got American Rifleman magazine. They weren't necessarily pro second amendment, they were pro hunting - both the men and the magazine. I didn't see the NRA as a second amendment group at all.

Later, as I began to have my own guns, I always wondered about the NRA. It seemed my duty to join to protect my rights to own guns - for hunting purposes. Without the NRA, I could lose my right to hunt altogether.

Since the 80's, when I have begun to be even more fearful about losing my second amendment rights, I have always felt like I needed to be a member of the NRA. It was the right thing to do. All of the people I looked up to as a kid were members. I always silently questioned, in my own mind, why they didn't seem to want to stand up for the second amendment but at least they stood up for my rights to own a hunting rifle. I had to protect my hunting rights.

And now, as the second amendment faces almost certain destruction in the next 8 years, I still depend on the NRA - to protect my hunting rights.

Until reading this thread, and I read it very thoroughly, I thought I must have been the only one who wondered why the NRA didn't stand up for the second amendment except where it affected my hunting rights. They seem to completely ignore the second amendment by supporting gun control of almost every type - except for hunting rifles. Even then, they support registering them - after all, what could be wrong with simply registering guns? It is not like the government could ever come into your home and take them just because they're registered. If you don't believe me, just ask all the gun owners in New Orleans.

I continue to support the NRA and their attempt to protect my right to have a hunting rifle. I am glad that their efforts are at least slowing down the destruction of our constitution. Without the efforts of the NRA at least slowing down the anti-gun lobby, the second amendment would already be totally gone. I just don't trust the NRA to be the final solution in protecting my right to keep and bear arms. Hopefully, though, they will slow down the erosion long enough for real supporters of the second amendment to turn the tide.

But all that is just wishful thinking. In the end, the second amendment will go the way of all of the rest of the Bill of Rights - down the tubes.

See, by your OWN statement, as I speculated before, you have proven me right.
    You *think* you understand history?

When the revolutionary war was being prepared for, did the people just up and start a war with their then mother country, over every infringment?
NO. They like any human, were passive UNTIL the attrocities could no longer be put up with. Many of their (our) own countrymen were subject to many cruel things BEFORE there was a war. See, by your very statement that a REAL revolutionary, will go to war over every little detail, shows how little you understand.

You tire of us hammering the NRA for it's inabilities and willful treason, and we tire of you shugging of your responsibilites and your inability to understand facts.

By the way, when did I say I was making war with anyone? I never did. In fact, all I have ever stated, is that I am preparing for worst case scenerio.

As for my ending statement in the last post:
What, you think when someone so opposite of my character chooses to bully me, that I would back into a corner and wanna be your buddy? TR, you don't know me, nor have a clue as to what I am capable of. I in no way say that I wish you violence, rather you mess with this bull, you are going to get more than you bargined for or are capable of handling. See, TR, I don't make friends very well. I have absolutely NO tolerance for liberals, liars, and the ignorant. Too many people I meet fall under at least ONE of those catagories.

    dalepres,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the input.

No, you are not alone. Most of us here joined the NRA at one time or another, because it was the thing to do. Father was a member, or uncle, or hunting buddies, etc. Maybe membership was/is a requirement for the club or range you belong to/ hunt with.

For YEARS, with their monthly magazines, they spoon fed the members information. One sided of course, but until the advent of the internet, who took the time to question what they said? They were fighting the fight FOR OUR RIGHTS......right?

Then along came the internet, and those nagging questions that were always in the back of "my" mind, rose to the front. The opportunity to gather information, exposing BOTH sides of the story, could now be found, with a little perseverance. My questions were answered, NOT that I like what I found.

The information that I present here, is for informational purposes only. You said you read it, thoroughly, so I have accomplished my goal. You sound like a reasonable man of intelligence. You NOW will look at the situation with OPEN EYES, which is my goal. To open your eyes. It is NOT one sided anymore. From this point on, it is up to the individual, to research (if necessary) and make up their own mind. Watch what they do, not what they say.

They have in the past (for the most part) tried to protect the "hunter" members rights. As you can see by the info here, they didn't do so well for the "rest" of us. I believe that is because their "base" is made up from hunters, and without them, they would cease to exist in their present capacity.

The NRA has many good programs that I FULLY agree with. They do some good when it comes to hunting areas, teaching about firearms, etc. But when it comes to their "gun rights" lobbying effort, I am not so sure they are good for even "slowing down" the infringements anymore.

Case in point, the recently passed "Veterans Disarmament Act" they they recently BACKED. An act that ALL OTHER firearms organizations (as well as MANY others) were against. This was SO BLATANT that it caused MANY fence sitters to stand up and take notice.

Very astute observation. I have long been saying that in a different way. To those who want a revolution, I had said that if you burn down the house, you may not like the new house that is built in it's place.

    In red above.

And I can clearly see why that is. You and I are both gun guys and we value our freedoms and constitutional rights. And as happens with most people, you and I don't have exactly the same ideas about how to protect those rights. But we could still be friends because we already have more enemies than we need. Yet you chose to argue and get angry. You notice I am not angry, but you are.
