Saw lots of those hookahs used in Egypt, but I think I will pass on those. We are indeed going to need Rembrandt to add the proper artistic touch.

As I sit with my Briar, sipping a juniper and lime flavored tonic, I am reminded of a poem I learned long ago, thanks to a kindly professor who taught me the beauty of English Poetry.Death, be not proud, though some have called theeMighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow,Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,And soonest our best men with thee do go,Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell; And poppy or charms can make us sleep as wellAnd better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then? One short sleep past, we wake eternally,And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

"This is my rifle...this is my gun, one is for hunting...the other's for fun..."Now I slip into my burgundy satin smoking jacket....carefully select a familiar book whose pages have seen much wear..."Horn of the Hunter" by Robert C. Ruark. I settle into the large overstuffed chair by the flickering fire side.....and immerse myself into Ruark's great hunting adventures.....only thing more entertaining would be watching BeeKeeper wrestling a couple of big water moccasin's....

A Texas pig hunt? Sounds like fun. Of course everything in Texas is pretty big....what's the size of these bad boys? Beekeep, I'll bring some cigars but wanted to check first to see if you had a hygrothermograph, want to keep them at their best. It's good to know you're well versed in the field of architectonics, perhaps after you add the study, a polo field can be built.

The superfluous degree of verbosity being displayed by occasionally consanguinous people displaying ruborous cervi is stupendous. It is nice to know that I am talking with such intelligent folks here at GB. I am being serious with this statement.

Sorry I was away for the first club meeting! I've been working some loooong hours lately. Here is a little somthing for yall to ponder on. Lonely and lost this battle I fight, On my own wrong against right. Weak and weary still I stand, On my own with empty hand. Brave and bold no tears to cry, On my own do or die. Down and dirty tooth and nail,On my own I refuse to fail. Forgive and forget the past will die, On my own my head held high. Nearer and nearer to the end, On my own, my own friend. Past and present, future ahead, On my own this life I've lead. Me and mine all alone, This war I won on my own.

A while back Rembrandt painted a picture (in our minds) of a bunch of us all slicked up at a hunting lodge or somthing wearing smoking jackets, sippin some fine beverages, and somkin stogies. That picture has grown into more of a fantacy for some of us and I am trying to keep the dream alive becouse it just sounds fun. Do ya want to join the club? Rosie, you qualify as a charter member. If anyone comes up short of syllables while communicating, Wundudnee and Andrew can conduct training seminars for the syllable impaired. If Rex Harrison (in "My Fair Lady")can make Elisa DooLittle speak proper English....I'm sure these guys can make us all sound like proper gent's.

I think we should have the meetings at Sir Lord BeeKeepers hunting lodge located in the West Virginia countryside. The image I have of his lodge is something of an English Tudor style. As you stroll up the cobblestone drive to the main entry...an elderly distinguished butler greets you at the door.....once inside a long curved staircase catches your attention....down the stairs comes Lord BeeKeeper in his satin smoking jacket with cognac in one hand and a fine cigar in the other. We exchange greetings then he leads us to the study for our first annual meeting. Above the marble fireplace is a painting of Lord BeeKeepers Father....one has a sense of reverence as the aroma of the crackling fire permeates the room. Lord Beekeeper then takes us to the open gun cabinet where we gaze in amazement at his collection of Purdy shotguns and .218 Savages. One wall of the study is completely covered with bookcases filled with many first edition literary masterpieces. The dark paneling and game mounts adorn the remaining walls. In one corner on the floor is a full mount Alligator with it's mouth clutching what appears to be a chicken. (A story for another time). Jeeves the butler enters with brandy snifters for all, cognac for the partakers of strong drink...tonic water for those who want a clear mind. Lord BeeKeeper opens the closet door where dozens of satin and muti-colored smoking Jackets hang, waiting to be used......each member selects a jacket that appeals to their personality....Rosie selects one befitting a king, then promply stands by the fireplace waiting for it to ignite...soon smoke begins to roll from the edges....Andrew begins to teach us new multi-syllable words by reading from a Medical dictionary. No one knows what these great words mean.....but all are impressed none the less. More to come later.....

Rembrandt, I appreciate the offer but I think I will defer to Andrew. I'm much to old to undertake such a momentus and formidable task. However I would like to just sit over in the corner some where in one of them funny coats sipping some of that old brandy and grinning a lot. I can do that well.

The image you paint, Sir Dutch Master, makes me salivate with glee.I am too humble to accept the task of educating my betters on the finer points of English dialogue, particularly as it pertains to medical terminology. I would be content to simply be included with you fine gentlemen and learn from your immense storehouse of knowledge regarding firearms.I believe the entire group of us would have a fine time sitting around in such a fashion, we could both solve the world's problems and decide for ourselves the proper way to break in a new firearm.Either goal is a worthy task, and I am proud to included in such a group of fine human beings. I am also sorry for my perhaps inflammatory earlier post. I am quite certain that none of you fine gentlemen (and ladies) have related parents. There may be some folks who are blessed to have red necks, but few will be found who possess necks redder than my own.Once again, I am proud to be acquaintances of yours, especially you Rembrandt, since it is now abundantly clear that you are in fact our Government's secret weapon, fomenting revolt and performing clandestine tasks at the behest of your friend the President.Clearly you are the prototype for John Clark (Tom Clancy novels). No matter what, I am certainly glad to find a group of guys like you all, and will be proud to don my silk smoking jacket and light up with you gentlemen, any time, any place.

Eureka, I have found it, or words to that effect. Working 12? hour night shifts provides me with an opportunity to peruse the various sites, that I opine might appeal to my interests, in search of intelligent and sophisticated typewritten intercourse. In my younger years my beverage of choice was a VSOP from the Chateau Beaulon reserves, superb color and nose. I find difficulty accepting the idea a snifter however, to truly appreciate a fine cognac one must partake of it from a tulip shaped reservoir, the large bowl of a snifter allows the bouquet to overpower one's taste buds and prevent the full appreciation of the taste. But alas, adult onset diabetes has relegated me to the ranks of those who must quaff non spirited refreshments. I do still enjoy a fine cigar with a vessel of club soda served with a twist of lime, of course. My smoking jacket is of burgundy silk with black velvet brocade and lapels, I am desirous this falls within your standards for attire. Is you club accepting applications for membership? If so I do have a few queries regarding the proposed meeting site; does it have an adequate landing field for my Lear? Commercial flying at this time is horrendous and shipping my Wesley Richards or H&H sporting guns is out of the question. Is there suitable lodging nearby for myself and staff? Usually only my valet and secretary. Please advise. If these conditions do not exist, I suppose I could drive my pick-up and sleep in the back with the dogs.Thank you,DB
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.

The clubroom is a natural bench situated in the tall pines on the banks of Slate Creek. The attire is Pendleton and Levi Straus and the subjects of conversation are grasped from the air as they ghost into the night sky, carried aloft by the heat of the campfire. Your beverage of choice is exactly that, your choice: from Coors to Carlos Primero, Budweiser to Benedictine&Brandy, soda to Chivas Regal Royal Salute, or maybe just a cup of coffee. And the members comprise anyone who can find us, and we make it easy.Clouder..

Whiteclouder, once again, elequently said...Welcome Dano, your in, can't think of anyone better at pot stirring than you....if you get out of line, you'll have to bring the Cognac and cigars for the next meeting.Dancing Bear, I am impressed, obviously you should be the person in charge of wine selections for Sir Lord Beekeepers cellars....I don't know if the air strip is long enough, perhaps you can use the "helo-pad". Living quarters will be available for your staff, and a classic Bentley will be at your disposal. Hope you have time to enjoy a round of polo with the club members. The swimming pool is off limits right now, Lord Beekeeper has it full of gators for an upcoming sporting event. [This message has been edited by Rembrandt (edited 10-14-2001).]
