A while back Rembrandt painted a picture (in our minds) of a bunch of us all slicked up at a hunting lodge or somthing wearing smoking jackets, sippin some fine beverages, and somkin stogies. That picture has grown into more of a fantacy for some of us and I am trying to keep the dream alive becouse it just sounds fun.
Do ya want to join the club?
[This message has been edited by shane (edited 10-13-2001).]
I just stopped in to check on some prices for my next gun show and found where someone had dug this thread up and dusted it off. How ya gents doing??????
Old King Cole was a merry old soul
And a merry old soul was he;
He called for his pipe, and he called for his bowl
And he called for his Privates three.
Beer! Beer! Beer! said the Private,
I need a brand new car said the Private;
Oh there's none so rare, as can compare
With King Cole and his Privates three.
WARPIG883,
I thought you were still laying around out back of the saloon. By the way I lost the link to that nice place a good while back when I changed puters. If it is still around would you please direct me to it? I need a drink!!!!!!!!!![:D][}:)][:D]
To all the rest of you guys that I haven't talked to in a while, Howdy!!
I remember back when this thread started I only had a small interest in firearms and recieved alot of good advice and opinions. Those interactions kept me interested in the firearm industry until one day a friend of mine asked me if I would go into the business with him, so I've been selling firearms and doing gunsmith work for the past two years. Most days it is still the best career change I've ever made.
With that said I just wanted to say thanks to those who were a big help to me when I was a newbee and let you guys know that even though I don't get time to post much anymore I still get alot of laughs and even sometimes still learn somthing everytime I stop in to read over your post.
I was just starting to feel like one small step above a snail with over 1,000 posts until this hit....... I'm not even snail crap...... don't think I'll live long enough to ask even how to apply for the jacket.....
Looks like you are a couple of days late from last year's bump!
the post on the most reads got me to thinking about Sugar Bear
so i had to go find the Smoking Jacket Club
but you have to admit not to bad timeing for a year

Its time to light up again. Darn smoking jacket doesn't fit anymore but I raise my glass to all of my fine brothers and sisters that join me in this fine club. Bottoms up for another year.
All new members are now accepted and gjshaw has my vote as keeper of the new club house!! Who has some good cigars? I'm down to a few Vegas.
And nice to see all yall again, I've been very busy. I went thru BLET at 35yrs old and am now a Public Safety Officer. Other than some of the paperwork it is shaping up to be the best job I've ever had.

Someone should do something to get this thread deleted.
Why? What difference could it possibly make?
I think it is interesting.

Actually the best way to get it deleted is to behave and enjoy the thread.[:D][:D][;)][B)]

It's a dang fine woman who'll let her husband park his Harley in the living room. [8D]
(you must have pictures of your taxidermist in compromising positions with farm animals)
Still here, but never wanted to join a club that would allow me to. (I stole that line)
Clouder..
Don't worry about stealing the line, old Sam stole most of his lines from The Bible anyway.
Alas, I will have to forego the tobacco. Had to curb some of my passions, don't you know.

What have you guys been up to?
[:D]Oh, and warpig can bite me![:D]
arent cigars bad for ya?
No worse than a double cheeseburger from McD's
Heck I don't expect to live past 95 anyway so why not enjoy the time I have.[:p]
