Anyone following this Rittenhouse trial? It's looking more and more like this should have never come to trial. Dude he shot just testified he pointed his gun at Kyle before Kyle shot him. LOL. The guy was a witness for the prosecution. LEWLZ!
Jeez, I feel bad Kyle has had to go through this kangaroo circus.

Actually, he was there offering medical aid... to both sides... and started being threatened and followed and then assaulted, which in turn he defended himself.

I've been following the reporting of the trial and think it is a joke. I think he brought on the attacks by having an AR slung on his shoulder but when attacked had every right to defend himself. All three of his attackers acted aggressively by either grabbing for the gun, hitting him in the head or pointing a gun at him. I think it was stupid for him to be there in the first place but immaturity shouldn't be a crime. Bob
Only a lifeguard...Not some medical EMT.. How the heck would he be a certified EMT at 17
https://news.wttw.com/2021/11/07/explainer-prosecutors-play-rittenhouse-inexperience
Where did he get the AR at 17 yrs old? This moron makes all law abiding gun owners look bad. Strickly a vigilante senerio.. out looking for trouble.
Yeah, too bad he didn’t join the Army. Then he would have been allowed to hold a gun.
Ya he is a real idiot, and those that where burning the towns down and there to start trouble are the real patriots. PLEASE! give me a brake.
How about this novel idea….
Let the law decide.
”He that seeketh mischief, the same he shall find “
I agree he shouldn't have been there. If there he shouldn't have been armed. But after doing those stupid things should he have let the first guy take his gun and do god knows what with it? Should he have let the second guy continue to beat him in the head with a skateboard? Should he have let the third guy shoot him? The vet that was with Rittenhouse had some maturity and experience and said the first guy that started it all was just a jerk and not a threat. Rittenhouse had neIther the maturity or experience to know this and felt threatened. That's probably because the guy saw a kid and thought he could intimidate or overpower him easily. I think a case can be made for self defense but it won't excuse the stupid actions made that led up to what ultimately happened. Bob
In my own opinion, Rittenhouse stepped up to do what all freedom loving Americans should have done. He stood with friends to protect their property, and lives, from violent, destructive mobs when law enforcement was unable, or unwilling to do it. When faced with deadly force, he maintained possession of his weapon, placed rounds accurately from an awkward position and put down 3 worthless thugs, 2 permanently. We all watched for months as lawless rioters sacked our cities, burned businesses, violently assaulted innocent civilians, destroyed our public monuments, and attacked our police and emergency responders. In many cases, local, state and federal politicians gave it complete approval. If there had been 1,000 more Patriots like Kyle, antifa would have retreated back to the safety of momma's basement and the blm bunch might have just quietly continued to cash their welfare checks. America would be better for it.
He didn't even live in Kenosha... but in Antioch, Ill. 20 mile away.
When I was in the army I knew some 18 year olds that shouldn’t have been where they were, and had no business doing what they were doing. But they believed in their country, and did what they thought was right to protect it.
Those that were eliminated were no loss to the human race. Yes, he chose to put himself in the situation. He did not choose to be attacked.
Carrying a rifle does not make him the aggressor.
Odds are, he will be convicted of something. I do not believe he should.

I hope he gets millions of dollars in lawsuits if found not guilty . heck they pay out millions to the getto lottery
I have to admit, I'm a little surprised at some of the comments on this topic.
" We're talking about a 17 yr. old kid, being somewhere he had no business being, and doing stuff he had no business doing." (So, whose business was it? Why weren't they doing it?)
"He didn't even live in Kenosha... but in Antioch, Ill. 20 mile away." (If you had a friend whose home or business was in danger of being burned to the ground, you wouldn't travel more than 10 miles to help? God forbid, cross a state line for them.)
I think I'd want Kyle on my team!
Wonder how many people think the paid agitators should not have been stirring up the crowd to commit crimes.
Good to see this name on the forum, @jeffb1911
For those with Dano thinking
"We're talking about a 17 yr. old kid, being somewhere he had no business being, and doing stuff he had no business doing.
The bottom line is he took two lives. He chose to go there and engage others. It hasn't sunk in yet as to what he's actually done. You can see that just by looking at him."
Do you know how old Audie Murphy was when he earned the CMO?
The kid probably shouldn't have been where he was but he wasn't violating any laws. The convicted felon with a gun WAS committing another felony. Think about what you're saying and consider that one is legal and one is illegal.
Would YOU want to be judged in a self defense scenario based on the idea that you should not have given the criminal a chance to assault you?
The entire thing is a travesty of Justice, the kid was CLEARLY being chased by these animals and fired in self defense hell he was trying to run away armed. Done This trial is ONLY due to Dem BS
Well from what I have seen, IF I was on the jury he would walk. Yea, yea yea, spare me all the other BS.
Yep exactly, this case should have never been prosecuted.
Well that idiot that gave a 17 yr old will eventually be prosecuted also.
Most of us had a rifle when we were 17 years old. I simply do no understand some of the comments in this thread. 17 year olds absolutely have a right to own a rifle in the USA, period, simple. Because we have unconstitutional laws prohibiting the purchase from an FFL does not equate to a 17 year old not having the right to own one. I bought firearms from people when I was younger than that.
No wonder the gun control crowd is winning.
As for this boy being not qualified in someone's opinion to render medical assistance doesn't change that he in fact had done so on the day of this event. He also extinguished a fire. He wasn't looking for trouble but he damn well protected himself from it when it found him.
Being 17 isn't a crime.
His motives should not be in question.
They ought to be prosecuting the Gov Tony Evers if he had accepted help from Trump instead of playing politics this kid may have never been there in the first place
Here is a quote from the Mayor
“The president was on the phone with the governor today … we have National Guard standing by, and if the general for the National Guard [in Kenosha] needs additional help, we’re there to do it, but today, that request was denied by the governor,” Meadows told Fox News.
Evers later reversed his decision and agreed to send in 500 National Guard servicemen.
But Meadows said a lot of the violence Kenosha experienced could have been prevented had Evers agreed to stand up to the rioters sooner.
He “clearly wants riots,” Meadows said of Evers. “It is out of control and it can’t be allowed to continue.”
Well somehow he became an internet commando. Found his information online what was going on in Kenosha thru friends online according to testimony. Then he decided to go there and start Policing. Well he should have left the Policing up to the Police. If they needed any help they would have called their brothers from other locations..or the National Guard . And then claimed he was there for medical purposes. Baloney , He took an AR looking for a fight to the town and got bashed up with a skateboard . And riddle me this.. what dog in the fight did he have? He was not protecting HIS property.
This is a typical case of taking the Law into your own hands. And it will cost him dearly when this is thru. He killed two people and injured another. Again the Police was doing what they could and it was NO business of Kyle's.
He worked in Kenosha.

Maybe if the so called adults had done their job this kid wouldn't have felt the need to be there
Just a couple of weeks ago we were discussing people not standing up for what is right and helping. Watching a woman get raped, another assaulted etc. What stake did these people being condemned have in the victim? None, so why should they get involved right? Yet they were condemned here for "not being men".
When is comes to the rioters people here say "they better not come to my town". Well they came to the town where this kid worked.
I applaud anyone willing to stand up to bullies and I don't care how old they are.

"the last thing we need right now is a bunch of hopped up teenagers taking to the streets, armed and bound & determined to take our country back. That's NOT the way to go about it."
Well there is this: "The soldiers were of all ages from young boys to old men. The majority of the soldiers, however, were ages 18-24."
Discussing the age of revolutionary soldiers...
Why do you seem to continually celebrate the restrictions of ownership Governments place upon the citizens, Elmer?
Brad Steele
I would use it as a teaching moment being positive in regards to his motives and balancing the situation with reality and his experience.. I would keep him from the situation due to his inexperience not due to his motives. I do wish for the sake of this kid an adult in his life would have intervened with some wisdom, but they didn't.
Scout5 makes an excellent observation. Experience and maturity trump everything. For those comparing Rittenhose to actual young armed forces members, that is a false comparison. There is a reason for basic training and then assigning an experienced non-com to lead and watch over green troops. Rittenhouse had no training and no experienced supervision and yet people wonder why things went south. Bob
Not getting into any peeing contest with you. If you have a problem with the governments actions take it up with them.
Rittenhouse should have left the Policing up to the Police. And ..how many times has he carried an AR downtown in public?
" that is a false comparison. " I disagree as my post was about those who served in the revolutionary war, which included many a militia solder which may or may not have had any formal training... As far as letting my 17 year old do something like this, well I can't answer that as I never had children however I joined the Army at 17 with my parents approval.
That's a wide scenario with a lot of factors. At 17 all of my sons would have been willing to do what they thought was needed. It is my job to temper that and guide it in the right direction. If the situation was the right direction I would allow them to do so.
As stated above the situation this kid went to would not be something I would let my 17 year old son do.
"Do you need ammo?"
Mostly I would advise against it.

The boy took the law into his own hands. Showing up with an AR to do what? Well he ended up killing two and injuring another. For What reason? I could understand if at home protection of ones family but not on walking down a public street confronting folks .
It was self defense, something generally applauded by the gun crowd.
