Nice to see you're still around Shane. We thought you went out on a hunt and lost track of time!I've tried to post on this thread several times and it is REALLY slow. Looks like 7 pages is not an efficient thread length.G36Proud member of the smoking gun, uh jacket club...

I'm STILL thinking about it. Serious business, this fraternizing thing. We had a Fire-Ring club a couple years back and it kinda dried up when a by-law about peeing too close to camp got rescinded.Clouder..

I thought that I might get in on this, that is, if it is all right with the powers that be in the illlustrious and concentrated Smoking Jacket Club. Shall I be received with an ingenuous posture or shall I be cast into the pit of conventional life, never to be involved in ostentatious talk again.ElbestaAKA The Beast

Think Admin might give us recognition? Not a special forum or anything like that, but maybe a star or something.Maybe our own "smokey" smiley.Just a thought.

I have witnessed this post/list grow and grow, and still refuse to post anything here. I wouldn't consider being a member of a club that would have me as a member.

Well, it's not boeboe Lenin. If you guys were to tighten up your membership criteria some so I was sure you wouldn't accept me, I might want to join. Kinda like credit applications. First you have to prove you don't need the loan, then they will give it to you.

Well I do believe I have found a future covey of long lost brethren, as I (much like yourselves) find myself wearing a jaquette de fume and imbibing in the nectar of the Gods. Yet I ponder, where is this place?I too long for a position where naught can be heard but the cracking of wits and billiards, the racking of slides and the not so distant reports of clays disintegrating, paper perforating and dust flying. The crackling of conflagration and clashing of goblets, the aromas of smoke and gun oils, I ask you, where is this place?Where the only truths told are that of our feelings and our dreams. Bequeath me this position and I shall bestow conversations and libations in a sanctuary that only we may understand. Where people ask, not in vain but in sincere query, the condition of well-being and of positions. I ask you where is this place? As a purveyor of rare wines, elixirs and spirits, I feel that I might secure a position in your administration as a provider of good cheer and filled snifters. And if nothing else I can help you reach 500.And what shall it be referred to?A club? But no, that rings of prehistoric weaponry and golf pretensions.A society? No I want no part of that.An institution? I've no desire to be re-institutionalized.But what is really in a name. Where is this place I already know as Home?

Lord Shinglekill, most eloquently spoken....haven't heard anything that classy since our resident novelist Sir Whiteclouder graced us with meaninful verbage. Perhaps you ccould suggest a fine dinner wine to go with venison or Pheasant under glass....?Whiteclouder, I don't believe there are any tax implications.....most of Beekeepers assets are in off shore bank accounts & tax free shelters. He should be able to show us all how to pay less taxes....Lord knows I could sure use some help in that area....

Sir Shinglekill, I must say that your wine list is as impressive as your typing. Hopefully all of the Smoking Jackets will get a chance to test some of those fine wines at our next meeting. Sir Lord Beekeep will be setting the time and place. You should contact him for further information.

Yes,I am quite impressed,to say the least! The gentleman is Jacket material(not literally,of course),if ever I have seen.Lord Rembrandt will be along shortly,at 'The Jackets Ride Again' thread,to give a brief discription of the Beekeeper Estate, and what to be prepared for, upon your arrival...he likes to do that ,in order to prevent new members from fainting...it is quite breathtaking,and....awesome,as the kids tend to say these days,..if I may say so myself.~SLB~
