    Just finished up last evening the scalloped potatoes that the wife made on Monday.  Eating just a portion each day along with a few sides.  Kind of glad they are gone.  

    Tonight my plan is a bowl of tomato soup with a grilled ham & colby cheese sandwich.  Will have a couple of fresh picked Macintosh apples dipped in caramel dip sliced with my favorite hunting knife while I lounge in the recliner.

    got crock pot going with clean out chili, take anything in fridge that is red, salsa, sloppy joe, and small helping of baked beans add to one pound of hamburger, little chili sauce, tabasco, chili beans, and assorted spices, will find out this evening what it tastes like, each batch is different but easy way of getting rid of leftovers............

    Having two large dogs that have appetites that don't quit helps me with what to do with many tiresome leftovers.  I am careful not to feed them anything containing all of those "bad 4 K-9's" food stuffs and always make sure the leftovers are fresh enough for even me to eat. 

    I was brought up not to waste food, and  feel OK giving to those hungry mouths that really appreciate it!   They are VERY spoiled though!

    I paid a visit to a local very popular family owned and operated butcher shop\hardware store\tractor sales\gun shop\clothing\shoe store way out in the boonies.  In the small farming town of Falmouth, Michigan.  For me it is about a 40 mile round trip but worth the effort.  Many travel hundreds of miles to shop there!  The place is called Ebel's.     

    They had some pretty good sales going on in the meat market and I did quite a bit of stocking up.  
    Whole beef tenderloins for 6.99 a pound!  Nice angus beef roasts for 2.99 a pound.  Thick cut smoked pork chops, jerky, sausage of every type I can't think of them all.  

    I also grabbed a very nice lean corned beef brisket that the wife is cooking up with all of the St. Patty's Day fixins for tonight's supper!   

    I'm sure you've all heard the expression; Christmas in July.  Well, today I'm celebrating St. Patrick's Day in October!

    Tonight is a mexican cassarole.  Line a backing dish with tortilla chips and fill with chicken sauteed with peppers, onions, add some tomato sauce, garlic and chili powder.  Cover with cheddar cheese and back for 20 minutes.

    Picked up a package of 3 store bakery made blueberry turnovers this afternoon on a run into town.

    Been craving something sweet and special lately and just had to dive into the first turnover before dinner time!  The flaky crust covered in swirls of white frosting and that sweet over stuffed blueberry filling just melted into my mouth! 

    It was sooo, sooooooooo, good, I just had to have another......and then the other!  :o 

    Well, that was it for me yesterday.  I had desert for dinner!   That is all.

    The wifey is making her own Sicilian style meat balls!  :p  She started getting busy in the kitchen pretty early this morning and I told her that I would take care of the spaghetti cooking when we get close to dinner time. 

    Gonna be Italiano night with garlic bread and a side salad.  Yumm Yumm Yummy!
